I love pumpkin pie. We were in England for Thanksgiving (but were staying with friends, one of whom is American) and we had pumpkin pie, yummy yum!

Are these fresh pumkins you need to cook?
If so you could could clean out the seeds then cut the pumkin in have the long way-top to botton- and place inside down on a cookie sheet in a little bit of water and let cook so it can soften, then scrape out the inside and mush really fine or puree.. to use as your pumpin base..

This is my grandma's pie crust recipe.. we use it for all pies.

2 cps flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup shorting
Blend with a pastry knife, add 1/4 to 1/2 cup water. Kneed lighlty then cut in half and roll out. It will make 2 pie crust. place in pie dish and add filing then bake. do not prebake.

for the pumkin pie..
use;

3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
2 large eggs
15 oz Pumpkin mash
1 can (12 fl. oz.) Evaporated Milk

Whipped cream (optional)

Directions:
MIX sugar, salt, cinnamon, ginger and cloves in small bowl. Beat eggs in large bowl. Stir in pumpkin and sugar-spice mixture. Gradually stir in evaporated milk.

POUR into pie shell.

BAKE in preheated 425° F. oven for 15 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350° F.; bake for 40 to 50 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack for 2 hours. Serve immediately or refrigerate. Top with whipped cream before serving.

I love pumpkin..mmmmm

You can make pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins.....

Let me know if you want me to convert these measurements for you...
