If you are sick of taking your disks somewhere to be repaired I have just bought a repair kit for CD/DVDs. I have just used it on a playstation 2 game and it has fixed it.

It is called CD/DVD scratch Repair Kit and it is by Laser.

It cost me $4.00 and will repair quite a few CD/DVDs (or in my case PS2 games). To pay someone else to repair (which I have already done with the disk I fixed today) it costs me $7 or $8 depending how bad the scratches are.

A bargain I think. Just thought I'd let you ladies know.

I rub toothpast on my scratched discs and buff it off, and it fixes them. I am not sure how or why, bu me friends is a programmer and told me.

Actually the stuff in the tube that gets rubbed on is a bit like toothpaste. But this has a small sanding device that gets the scratch off before it is buffed.

Really? I'd be too scared to do it. I usually just wipe over my discs with a wet & then dry tissue & it has always worked :)

It's not like sandpaper for sanding, it's still soft and you can see the scratch disappear. The polishing stuff (like the toothpaste) coats the disc to protect it. I thought well the disk wasn't working anyway and I wasn' going to keep taking it back and paying $8 a pop to have it fixed (it only lasted about 2 months after having it fixed professionally). So I wasn't loosing out if the disk repair didn't fix it.

I bought it at the Warehouse, but I have seen them in Kmart where they cost more. I didn't want to pay more and have them not work. They are exactly the same.

I bought the one where you put the disc in after spraying and then turn the handle...it was crap....did nothing!

I have read somewhere to smear them with peanut butter and then buff off LMAO.....truly I have.

LMAO The turning one! My peanut butter is super crunchy so I'd end up with more scratches! LMAO

Don't know if I'd try peanut butter.

Besides, I'd have a fight on my hands if Tyler caught me 'wasting' it LMAO

OK Gemma played the game lst night. It played great, then I think maybe when it got hot or something it kept stopping. So Maybe the disk repair kit I have got isn't that good after all. Or maybe the disk is just beyond repair. I had already taken it to a professional to be fixed and it started playing up not long after that (about 2 weeks I think)...

those little cleaning kits are great, and they are cheap too, you can get them from the reject shop too, i would think any discount shop would sell them.
