I was just wondering if any-one has any tried and test favorite recipes for the CROCK POT. I recently bought one as I have a chronic illness (LUPUS) and have been told by my specialist to slow down and thought maybe this could be a way of making things easier. I would welcome any ideas that you all may have.

Hope everyone is well and happy!

I have my mum's crock pot and I love it - what I do is take my current recipes and just make sure that I brown the meat first and then bung (my technical term) everything in and et voila!

Here is a link from Google with lots of ideas for a crock pot.

One of my favourites is doing steak with tomoato and onion gravey - yum.

If you need to slow down because of Lupus have you considered Tai Chi.

I am a new convert to it and I do it to slow me down and not only do you feel relaxed you get a workout too!

I was given a crock pot 24 years ago and it still gets a work out every winter! Actually, I have just shouted myself a nice new one, so Erin has scored my old one.

I simply put all the ingredients in the crock pot at once and pop it on slow. I never bother to brown the meat, (I can't notice any difference) as my way of thinking that's the beauty of the crock pot ..only one thing to wash :) I'll put anything in the crock pot ..lamb chops or steak and chopped up vegies ..to casserole recipes ..whole silverside ..soups ..whatever you like ;)

I fully agree! I am going to shout myself a new one too, one of those oval shaped ones as I gave my old one to one of my Sons before I left Oz. I cannot live without one!! lol

It's a slow cookin device - you can literally out something - say a stew turn it on go to bed and voila - done.

Some people put it on before going to work and the meal is there ready and waiting for you when you return.
