2......... To be Fat and Ugly and live to the age of 90+

If i was #1 would I think I'm more liked? No probably not, I'm not number one now and I couldn't give a toss if somebody liked me or not, I don't need to live up to other peoples expectations.

Linda if you're using yourself as a model for "fat and ugly" then I think perhaps you need to take a good hard look in the mirror and see what is there as opposed to what you think other people are seeing. :blink:

Would I want to live till 90 if I was 180kg+ and had a face that only a mother can love? No I wouldn't because I would have to put up with the looks and jibes for all that time. But can I quite happily live as I am till 90? Yes I would, because I don't see myself as being that fat or that ugly, despite what the "beautiful" people of the world might think. :dk:

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and if you can't see it yourself, then maybe you should ask Keith if you can borrow his eyesight for a time. I'm not trying to be unkind here but it seems to me that you are being overly harsh on yourself, just because of a stereotype in your head of what a woman should look like. :)

Well how fat is fat? I am assuming I could still walk and just be overweight. Living to 90+ means I would have to be just fat, not morbidly obese because I would be healthy enough to live to 90+. So I would go with fat #2 all the way. Personality shines through. Yeah I know fat and ugly is unfortunate, and discriminated against but hey my friends and my man (if I had one) would love me for who I was, not my looks or my body. So that is ok with me. I remember many years back I volunteered at an organisation. There was a woman who was fat and ugly. She also dressed awfully. But she was a wonderful person and we all really enjoyed her company. Shallow people do nothing for me.

My goodness it annoys me when Fat and Ugly go hand in hand. I am FAT!!!!, about 20 kilos overweight but I don't think I'm ugly or have ever met anyone that I would consider UGLY, and most of the so called beautiful people have just as many flaws as everyone else, so it's all a mote point to me. I would personally choose the second one cause I wanna live. Books don't care what you look like (they just want to be read and enjoyed), kids don't care what you look like (as long as you love and care for them), your true friends don't care what you look like (as long as your loving and accepting to them), and most of all I don't really care what I look like as long as I'm happy, surrounded by people that love me, and somewhat healthy (don't forget thin people die too ya know).
So bring on 90 years of learning, loving, and a great life full of people who accept me for who I am, rather than how I look.

You know Mes, So much is said about being thin and attractive, but honestly, the kindest most generous lovely people I have known have all been overweight.
( Not saying my thinner friends are not kind though)There is a lot to be said for the heart..and the kindness within. I have had friends that looked great, but really , inside they were shallow, and thought only of themselves.
Be proud of who you are, and believe in yourself. Kindness is written on your face, only the ones that matter will see it.:)

My sister would be a size 2 maybe even a zero at the moment and she is the most selfish person I know; everything is about looks and how much weight a person is, now I am almost a size 12 and she told me I need to lose 15 kilos, for the moment I don't talk to her, it is ok for me to look after her boy when it suits her but far out do I need to be told that I am getting a fat arse, probably not, I can see it everytime I get into my jeans!!

To me "fat" is carrying excess weight. What you are referring to is morbid obesity which goes beyond being just plain fat. Even obese people are capable of moving and leading healthy, active lifestyles. I have done longer, strenuous hikes in the wilderness that my slimmer counterparts wouldn't even contemplate.

Being "fat" is not a barrier to being healthy and active and doing those things so long as you continue to want to do them. :dk:

(Sorry, that's another bug bear - "fat" people being classified as sloths just because they carry excess weight.)
