morning!
it's going to be 16 degrees here in melbourne today and i am going to a wedding. here is my dilema.
i have two dresses that i can wear, one being a black wrap dress, one being a scarlett red dress.
i think that i have heard that wearing black to a wedding is poor form or bad luck...
and the red scarlett dress will stand out somewhat... and risk looking like a floosy or ...
any thoughts or advice for me?

Sounds like you should be wearing a snow suit instead :Hehe:
I don't think it's that bad these days to wear Black to a wedding. IMO I think the black would probably be better than the red, due to the floosy factor :P :Hehe:

Hi drdolly, my daughter-in-law to be helped me pick out my mother of the grooms dress & it was black. More people are wearing black to weddings. I've been to wedding where black was 1 of the 2 colors the bride chose for her brides maids dresses. So wear it & have a great time.

I'd go with the black too. It doesn't seem to matter these days what colour you wear to weddings or funerals.
I would wear an Ugg Jacket and Boots too! Beanie, gloves, thermal underwear. Yep, I would look real nice! Hope you don't freeze your ar*e off.
Have a good time.

I was just about to say something similar... do you have a light coloured wrap or jacket? Make your accessories a different colour, so you can see that you've added colour to your outfit.
Black is becoming more acceptable at a wedding... at our wedding 75% of our female guests wore black and that ranged from my Aunty in her 70's to friends in their late 20's. My bridesmaids wore black as well.

i will have a hunt around in my jewellery stock to find something to brighten it up. good thing is i dont have to worry about finding a parking space!

What about going for a more Audrey Hepburn look with big pearls around your neck and wrist... if it suits the dress style of course.
