There are lots of products that can be purchased from the supermarket, around the toothpaste area. :)

Macleans Toothpaste might be helpful.
Do you smoke.. that'll turn them yellow, and you know the cure for that is to stop smoking.:)

i've heard that brushing teeth with baking soda can help. Some of the toothpastes that are available now do contain it so it must be of some benefit :)

Gosh Mes wouldn't have taken you for a smoker...I thought only us old school did that..
There is a new paste out now, not that new actually, White Glow, there is a smokers formula and a regular it is a whitening paste and is rather cheap for what it is. You use it as you would a regular toothpaste. It also has an anti stain ingredient in it. Also vitamin enriched for healthy gums. Even better if you use an electric toothbrush..:hehe:  Hope this helps.

well i was going to ask if you smoked, i know coffee can make them off white as well.
My pop used to use Sunlight soap & his teeth were beautiful but!! they were false teeth :) but give it a try it can't help apart from that ask your chemist

just be careful with some of the teeth whitening pastes as their not very high in fluride and without fluride your enamel will disintergrate and you will notice your teeth start to go sheer at the bottoms as they loose their hardness.
you can buy teeth bleeching kits, try the chemist or somewhere like priceline/attack. just make sure no matter what you go for you have a toothpaste with good fluride in it!

they all pretty much gave the answers i was going to say.
good luck! :)
My dentist told me recently that the colour of your teeth is genetic. Some people have teeth that go yellow as they get older. You can use the things in the shop, but they won't last. The dentist can do something which is much better and lasts longer but costs a lot of money.

Do you smoke by any chance? If so thats most likely your answer. To remove i think it's best to go for a routine cleaning and flouride treatment at the dentist. Or you can maybe use teeth whitener. However teeth whitener takes away the enamel...

Also if you get it done by the dentist, bleaching can make your teeth sensitive. :)

If you have the time and money, drop into your dentist, and see what they're recommendation is.
I'm thinking about having a good ol' check up before our wedding and perhaps get some whittening... but i'll go to the dentist to get their opinion. Nothing wrong with doing your research :)

not sure what kind of whitening i'm going to do, but i'll probably get something at a super market first and see how that works out.

I think a lot of us have the same problem. I wouldn't use salt if I was you, because it could rub the enamel off your teeth. There are a lot of whitening toothpastes which you can get in the supermarket - they do work if you use them regularly. Alternatively, you can go to your dentist and ask if they recommend any whitening treatments - I know of a few, but they're pricy. I think it would be worth it though :-)

I think that these methods are bad in the long run. I'm pretty sure that the idea is to scrub away the stain, however this can actually damage the enamel on your tooth, and it will be more likely to stain afterwards.
Obviously things like smoking, red wine, and coffee can stain you teeth, but some poeple do all this and still have pearly whites! Unfortunately, some of us are just more prone to staining, and some teeth are actually more of a yellow. Apparently, these teeth are stronger (not sure if my mum just told me that to make me feel better!)
Anyway, I am saving up for a trip to the dentist to have mine whitened. My teeth aren't terrible, but I would love them to be whiter. The dentist told me about $500 for the first go, and then your top ups will only be about $70 when you need them. It is a lot of money, but it's worth it to me to do it safely, and without damaging my teeth.

I didn't know this...? Have you had it done?

my friend at work told me that it's only $400 to get your teeth whitened, so i want to get them done before the wedding.
DF has no enamel. when he was young, his dentist completely ruined his teeth and now he has no enamel and they are stained from drinking coffee and smoking, so i told him he should get them whitened with me..i wonder what would happen if he got them whitened, even if there's no enamel there..?! :dk:

I'm not sure about that, Kiki. There are some people that they say the whitening won't work, but I'm not sure who or why. Your dentist should tell you straight out if they don't think they can help. I hope they can. That sucks about that happening. Does he have sensitivity problems from it too?
I'm so excited about doing it. My boyfriend and I are doing it together too.
Strawberries have natural tooth whitening properties, FYI.
