I am on a new medication for my migraines and a side effect is weight gain. I am putting weight on but only in my tummy?
I eat healthy I walk 5 days a week. I am not going to the gym any more the weights were a problem with the arthritis in my hands?
Anyway I am after some ideas of maybe a tummy exercise that will help with flattening the tummy dont say sit ups I hate them?
I think the walking will help eventually but I am getting impatient?:brow:

Hello Jenr,I have tried these & it is working.Take it slow though.

Plank (Hover) Exercise

Start in the plank position (see photo 1) with your forearms and toes on the floor.
Keep your torso straight and rigid and your body in a straight line from ears to toes with no sagging or bending.
Your head is relaxed and you should be looking at the floor.
Hold this position for 10 seconds to start.
Over time work up to 30, 45 or 60 seconds.
Plank with Leg Lift
Start in the same plank position (photo 1) as above with your forearms and toes on the floor.

Keep your leg straight with your toe flexed.
Slowly raise one leg 5-8 inches off the floor (photo 2)
Hold 1-2 seconds and slowly to the floor.
Switch legs and repeat.
Do about 2-3 sets of 10 reps.

No idea.... unless maybe a change of diet to a Gluten free one?
If you Google to name of the medcation, then all contra indications should come up and you may also find out how to lessen the effects.

I have the same problem but not from medication. I look 6 months pregnant since my last baby. I'll try a few of these things. Heather, my ex-husband said something about gluten and dairy. Do you know if you can develop these things later in life? I was tested years ago and they came back negative.

Really heather? That would actually explain a lot. My stomach looks bloated for the last couple of years and that's when my stress started so maybe that's it. Do you know if an intolerance can go away when the stress is over? I'd hate to have to give up lactose forever. I love chocolate too much.

Well this is what my GP told me.....the Bm had a terrible time when the X decamped.... he was diagnosed as such.
Apparently his own son was given the news by a Gastroentologist (sp) whilst he was going through the HSC and it's inherent stresses and strains
I kept him on a Dairy free diet for a few months, gradually brought back some dairy items and it certainly helped.
Hasn't had any problems for a while now.

BTW.....Sweet William make a very yummy soy Chocolate bar (available in Health Foods at Woolies) and the So Good chocolate flavour is still a favourite.

Oh, chocolate is very good for me. I know this. I have a coffee cup and a fridge magnet that remind me every day.

The lactose intolerant thing is interesting though. I might cut back a bit for a while and see if it makes a difference. My son had lactose intolerance as a baby that he grew out of and my mum said I was the same as a baby so maybe it has come back. Thankyou. I was getting worried. People keep congratulating me on my impending birth.

Gin please!

I'm lactose intolerant Issi and it's really not that bad..

I still eat yoghut as the lactose is eaten up by the other things in it, I sometimes have a bit of milk free cheese and I always use a Zymil instead of milk...it's a lactose free milk and tastes great too.

The only things I miss are things like cheesecake, goat cheese and normal cheese on things like tacos but otherwise it's not bad.
