I am interested in seeing somebody, qualified in Naturopathy but just don't know where to start. I would like to know natural ways to treat things that I have been dealing with.

How do I pick one?

Does anybody have experience in going to a Naturopathist?

I'm interested in knowing anything I can about the process.

Does your GP believe in alternative medicines? That's agreat place to start. It is always best to work with both traditional and alternative practioners in regard to medical condition (INHO). That way they both know what each other are doing. It is what I do and it is great to have a team working with you.

I am very lucky that my medical GP is very comfortable with alternative medicine complimenting tradional medicine.

From her I'm sure I could get the name of a naturapath.

You know your Dr there aren't many that believe in alternative, if you are member of a health fund they have recognised ones so you could speak to them or your health food store or even a recommendation.

If you use other alternative therapies like chiropractic or massage therapy they sometimes know ones too.

I hope that helps.

I would start with your GP as Gail said, i would also borrow some books about naturapathy from the library, and mention it to people you know that may be into alternate medicine- word of mouth is a good guide.

I have a few contacts but thay are on Central Coast NSW. I will ask around and see if any of them have contacts in Canberra for you.

I also believe that all things happen for a reason. When the time is right you will get the contact. Good Luck

Now that Mel35 has jogged my memory there is an excellent naturopath in Canberra but for the life of me I cannot remember his name.

Somone I worked with daughter went because she had fybriomyalgia and he really helped with her general well being etc. Let me see if I can get the name of the person but I know that he comes very well regarded

Hi spoke to my friend and his daughter saw Bill Giles Canberra Medical Ecology Centre in Deakin 62826800.

Here is a website http://www.nibm.com.au/ about his centre maybe they can help you or if not maybe they can refer you to someone else.

Good luck

Thanks for all that.

I don't really have a regular GP that I can talk to about all this.
