thursday afternoon, my mom and i decided to try out the spray tan-that way i'm not so white with my white wedding dress on. spray tans are becoming quite popular here and it's good for weddings and something you have going on, rather than getting tan by the UV booths or getting burnt by the sun. so i figured we'd try it.

it was alright. i wasn't too impressed by it. the booth has the spray in it and it does it automatically. afterwards, you're told to wash your hands good, so i did. a few hours later, i noticed water marks by my wrists. you can't shower until 5 hours after, so showered the next morning and thankfully most of the marks i saw faded quite a bit. :)

they also give you this lotion to put on each day after, which will give you more color and highlight the tan. i didn't want to do that! i still have the tan and it's rubbing off, it's too funny. it did rub off a bit on my dress too, since i was sweating. it usually lasts up to 5-7 days.

i don't think i'd get it again though. it does stain a bit, but for $30 bucks i can't complain! :hehe:

has anyone tried it?! not sure if you have it there or not..

Been around along time here but more professionally done than just stepping into a booth, beauty clinics do it they have trained staff to spray you, a bit more than $30.00 but it doesn't stain and never leavs marks all the girls get it done for there balls I have never bothered but taking my daughter many times before her ball

MOC-i so agree! :hehe: this just came out here almost 2 years ago. but when i was in high school, this girl used the self tanner cream and she looked orange. ever since that, i told myself i would never do it..yet, i did the spray and i still wasn't crazy about it!

wow di nana! we have ones like that here too. i think my neighbor said that's where she went to get it done before her wedding, but still it stained her dress and all. you just have to be super careful when you get it done.

sandy-i'd love to see a pic or two of your wedding! :D

thanks gin! :) i think that's because i didn't put that lotion on after to make me look darker! :hehe: i was too scared to, i didn't want to look orange!

No spray tans for me. Aside from the fact I'm terrified I'll end up looking like an Oompa Loompa I don't need it, I'm a nice browny colour. If I ever wear a dress or anything that shows my legs I use this fake tan stuff in can. I cannot remember for the life of me what it is called...

The stuff is great, you spary it onto your hands then rub it onto your legs then you let it dry, you can make it dark or light. It dosn't mark if you let it dry properly and even if it does it's only made for 1 wear so it washes out easy peasy!

And best part... its brown not orange.

You can get spray on stockings in a can, it's a brown colour too so that might be the stuff you're talking about. It's a Sally Hansen product the one I'm thinking of. I tried it once but it just looked so weird, I had a shower and then put a pair of stockings on. LMAO

I did one of those tanning creams about 10 years ago and didn't wash my hands. They were orange for 2 weeks. Whoops.

Avon has a nice tanning cream. I use it on my legs in summer.

my legs still are a bit stained. i'm going to scrub them tonight in the shower!! it slowly comes off, but some of it is still on my body..parts of my legs, parts of my arms, and my tummy are still tan! :hehe: it doesn't look bad, but i can notice it and it bothers me..

I use a summer glow at the beginning of sping and summer if I need a top up....it is a moisteriser with a tanning cream in with it. It is made my Dove. The more you use it, the more darker it gets.

Just remember to wash your hands afterwards! Orange palms is a dead give away :P
I found those summer glow ones are a bit orange for me, even the lightest ones. I'm a fair skinned red head though so I guess anything will look a bit orange on me.
Anyone have any suggestions for "just a hint of a tan" look?

I'm nearly (but not completely) resigned to the fact that I have to have white pasty legs!
