Well I had to take Aymee back to the Drs this morning.
She is still coughing all the time, but she had no fever this morning, so hopefully the anti biotics have kicked in.
We are sitting in the waiting room, and of course she is cough, cough, coughing, so the receptionist comes over, and places a mask over Aymees face. She said that they received notification from the NSW Health Dept, and anyone presenting with a cough, must wear a mask.
Aymee was not impressed. Everyone kept looking at her, and she got all embarrased. There were a couple of other kids in there and they were laughing at her.
One older man thought he had the right to tell that I was over reacting  I then informed him, that it wasn't me that put it on her!!
You should of seen peoples faces when they walked through the door and saw her with a mask....I tell you its a good way to have room to yourself, as no one comes near you!!!

This is my first taste of the outcomings of Swine Flu!!

OMG Ness how dare he say that to you, did he apologise after you told him (not that you should have to explain your actions) as for the kids who laughed at her their parents need a slapping, if it was my kids & they dared to laugh I would have kicked their asses!!!

Poor little tot. Draw a snout on the mask perhaps? That'd make people sprint away from you......

Wellness wishes young Amyee.

PS - Supa, what's your secret?

No he didn't apologise. He tried to make it better by saying 'poor little tot, you need some cough lollies' and Aymee told him that lollies make your teeth fall out :hehe:

Obviously little ones take more in then we think, as she asked me if she was going to turn into a pig !!! I didn't even discuss Swine Flu with the Dr

Gin please!

Poor darling, Aymee.
Why do some people think they can be rude to others and get away with it. If I was there and Supa was with me..we would have chewed him up and spat him out. And the same would have went for those silly children. LMAO LMAO

You know, when someone is ill and coughing etc, it is wrong that they even have to go to a surgery. I remember when I was a kid, the local doctor would come to your house. I guess it isn't really feasable these days but how much better it was. I had asthma when I was a kid and no way would I feel like sitting coughing my guts up in a surgery.

Thats true 2catscan. They tell me to keep her indoors and in bed, but i have to take her in there every couple of days, and risk getting her more sick...

Bloody hell, isn't it enough that she 's not well that people have to be so unkind, tell her that I had to do the same thing and I was the only one in the room too, and mine was an industrial mask not a proper one, how embarrassing that was, no one dared say anything but the stares oh boy...hope she is better soon.

Thanks Robyn. I went and got a new steamer this afternoon for her room, the other one was 13 years old :hehe:

Hopefully that will help break up her chest. :fx:

Oh one of those ones you use for asthmatics? They are supposed to be very good. Vicks around the throat and upper chest works wonders too, you can calm it down if she is sensitive with Vaseline.

Yes, I have been doing the Vicks. I meant vapouriser Robyn, they put steam mixed with Menthol into the sir, and she breathes it in all night.

poor thing! what a horrible experience!

when i went to the hospital last month thinking it was swine flu, i too had to put a mask on..everyone changed their seat to sit on the other side of the room and i did get multiple stares..i felt horrible. :( i wasn't the only one though that had to wear a mask though, so that's good! :hehe:

I meant to tell you a trick I know from the old days when I had asthma and used to get really chesty - my Mum used to sit me up and pound me on the back, as hard as I could stand. Sounds weird, but it really helps break up the congestion and get blood flowing to the area.

I was doing that last night 2catscan. Laying her across my lap and punding her back :hehe: I told her I was playing the drums.

She is much better today, and slept through to 4am yesterday morning, without hardly coughing, so :fx: it will be even better tonight. I nearly fell asleep this afternoon at work, i think all the sleepless nights and the worry, have left me rather tired :hehe:
