I don't believe so.
I think alcohol and cigarettes age you, because they dry out your skin..
I think being overweight only makes you feel uncomfortable, to a degree, don't believe it ages you at all... IYKWIM. :)

It depends on the person. The guy who won the biggest looser last time. Well it may have had something to do with the makeover too but while he lost heaps of weight I thought he also looked older.

i think some ppl who lose weight, lose some of their face which can make them look drawn/haggard,
ciggys and booze defo aging, dont smoke but i like the odd glass .....or three LMAO

I think it can for sure because its putting extra stress on the body, but its not to say that if you lose the weight your gonna actually look younger, i think just being fit and healthy probably gives you a better glow and moving more spritely and with ease makes you seem more energetic which seems more 'youthful' ...if that makes sense

I think excess weight ages your physical ability but not necessarily your look in general.....having been an anorexic (no I dont vomit, I just starve for days at a time) for over 12 years now I think either way in extremes ages you

I was thinking of a few friends who are quite slim and thought they dont look their age...

So so true with the cigarttes and grog that really ages you.....it can really make you look like you've had a hard life....

The woman at the surf club carded me for entry last Sunday so given I'm almost 30, I'd have to say I disagree that excess weight ages you. LMAO

LMAO I'm not carrying extra weight but I always get carded,
I used to take it as an insult but the older I get the nicer it sounds :hehe:

PP-if you don't mind me asking, why don't you eat for days at a time?

From what I've heard genetics are the main factor and some people will look older or younger regardless but excess weight will age you by a few years as well and if you lose a lot of weight then your face loses some of it's elasticity so that ages you as well. The best thing is to stay slim the whole time. And of course other things play a part such as sun, cigarettes, diet, drinking.

Doesn't really matter whether it ages you in the looks department - it ages you physically and deprives you of your health, and ca cause problems down the track such as heart disease and diabetes.
I was about ten kilos more than I care to be, so I lost it - sure, after I lost it I was more wrinkly but I have a clean bill of health.

Its my anorexic brain I'm afraid.....anorexia is more of a control issue rather than a weight issue although it is expressed by sufferers through their weight.
Starving helps me to feel in control and its a safe place. I have been working hard at recovering but since I've been this way for over ten years the doctors, psychs etc think it will be a hard road!
My lowest weight was 38kgs.....that was about a year ago. I'm a bit bigger now but weight gain is hard!

Nope non of that......Its hard for someone to understand an anorexic and I'm afraid it is really hard to explain.
I developed anorexia along with other issues during the 10 years of sexual abuse I suffered at the hands of my step father....I was 4 when it started and my mother knew all about it but did nothing, in fact she called me a **** instead.
I do my best to be a women that the world can be proud of :) even if I do live in a world of hell....I'll be damned if my kids will live the legacy though so I put on a happy face and carry on.......

Just answering questions and sorry if I seem to be hijacking this weight issue thread!

I thought Anorexia was the obsessive exercise and warped body perspective as well like looking in the mirror and seeing overweight still so i just thought maybe you meant you dont eat as a kinda ocd or anxiety control instead of seeing yourself fat seeming as you said it wasnt so much about the weight for you, not that it matters tho i don't think the label means anything unless its to the psych who's trying to figure out what box you fit. It must be very difficult for you tho, trying to juggle your family and work with the stress and fatigue that would go with that.

I do look in the mirror and see fat and disgust but it comes from a punishment to my body.....I dont deserve to eat. You just dont think your worthy enough to be normal kind of thing - I also find it hard to eat with a knife and fork as in my mind I just dont deserve that.
Does that kind of help more?

I have so much to say on this thread ( with what I have just read), and am going to stay out of it, for the very reason I might offend...

PP....you've come far indeed, without really knowing you I feel proud.

Now to get back on track......I am a firm believer that a little bit of padding definitely gives a younger look to a woman's face.
