I am getting my sh*t together - such a good feeling. I feel normal again - I can;t tell you how good it feels to feel like me again. Makes me realise I have not been me for a few years and its so good. so I am planning my financial goals, starting to budget, planning to buy a house in a year (roughly) and its great. I'm also looking for creative ways to get a second income - I want to find something to sink my teeth into (no don;t tell me about ebay etc - I don;t make things LOL).

But something else I ahve to do is get into an exercise routine. I have cut down my work hours to something more normal, and now I would like to find a way to get up early and exercise before work and/or do some after work. I am not a morning person and I get up at the last possible moment, fly into the shower and get ready like a mad woman, fly to the train station, run to catch the train and so it goes. So I need ot change that.

I'd like to come up with a goal for end of year - weight and fitness wise. I'll get there.
Anyone else in the same boat?

A few years ago I got a heart rate monitor and it was really good for motivation. I would record the stats and see my progress. I might dig that out again.

Well ladies, now is a great time for us set some end of year goals! When I have mine I am going to post them and update them monthly to see my progress.

Hey, maybe we should get a section here for goals so we can post them and monitor them and encourage each other? Or is there one already and I don;t know about it?

Hi Maggie,

A good idea for a 2nd income is market research. There are a few companies that you can sign up with online. Often they are of a night or weekend.

I don't do it anymore, but a few years ago, the extra $60 or $100 every couple of weeks came in handy. You can knock them back if it isn't suitable & they don;'t mind. Also, it's usually cash. I am still signed up with a couple and I get regular emails about different surveys, and I haven't done one for at least 18 months.

Good on you Maggie, I've been doing mine for about 4-5 months now, with the exercise etc my goal was just to do it not to actually reach a target weight etc but just to get active as often as i could and its been great!

I started last November, walking, running and doing weights, and the results have been remarkable - and I am 58 this year. At the moment I am grounded with a herniated disc in my back but as soon as that is ok back to my routine, I realy miss it. I lost 10 kilos and feel really good for it.
