Oh cool..........I've never had the problem myself but I just talking to my MIL and mentioned them and she said she used to take them a while back and they did make a difference but you still have to watch what you are consuming.
Oh and she said it took about 3 months or so to work....well thats when she went back to test again

Yes, I was diagnosed with it some years back after a particularly painful and frightening attack. I have been lax lately so might try watching my diet again, but wuld like to hear in three months if the tablets have been of any help.

The most debilitating pain I have ever experienced....and that included childbirth. It screamed at me when I moved or took a breath. I was at a shopping centre some 20kms from home when it became so bad thatI walked into a doctors surgery in tears (which hurt also) and they very kindly took my symptoms seriously and prescribed me, a total stranger, some very heavy pain medication which I took as soon as I managed to get home. Blood tests, ultrasounds etc much later when the pain had eased somewhat indicated a Fatty Liver and a definite change of diet.

Wow, Heather I never knew the pain could be that bad with it.
Take it easy then, Melinda. It's good you're watching your diet as well.

I havent (sorry edited cos I noticed typo said "I have" - kinda puts a whole dif context!) had fatty liver but I have had liver failure following a stupid surgeons botch job during gall bladder surgery.
I used very high strength milk thistle and gingko biloboa for 3 years to regenerate my liver. Actually before I took the pills I went to a naturapath and got a milk thistle tonic. Tasted vile. Drank it about 6 times a day for a week - then stayed home from work for week as it did its "cleansing" job a little too well! Then she made me the high strength pills.
At the start before I was diagnosed - my hair was falling out in chemo quantities and my nails were peeling off. The milk thistle and gingko were incredible in their repair job.

does it ever get better or will you always have that fatty liver now? :dk:
i wonder if i can get DH to get this blood test done..he drinks enough..
I have a fatty liver too Melinda, but I don't know if its excess bread or excess alcohol or just a crappy diet.
So I'm very interested in this thread & look forward to hearing how people are treating it. :)

Will watch this thread with interest as well.My sister has fatty liver and it must be due to her diet as she does not drink alcohol, she has also been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.I think everything has resolved since she lost weight.I should be the one with fatty liver as I love my 5 o'clock red wine not her.
