Does anyone have these? I have wanted to get some for ages.
Kmart have got a set on special this week for $299 - they are the ones that you strap onto the back of the front seats in the car.
Its a 6.2" dual screen portable DVD pack. So you get two screens which both have stereo headphone inputs, a carry bag & the car power adaptor.
Wouldn't mind getting these for the boys for when we go away. They would be great for the car trip anyway. I'm happy to pay that than listen to them fight the whole way :Hehe:

I have one and so do my parents. I have a younger sister (10!, yes, I was 14 when she was born) and she LOVES it for the car. It would be a great idea for your boys on trips. Keeps them Happy and Quiet! :)

They'd be great too for when they are bored as well. They can just jump in the car & watch a DVD :)

Well you all know about Callums...he is on his second one as the volume switch stopped working on the first one..I think the second one is a different brand though so hope it goes the distance :)

Hubby wants me to wait until later in the year to get them & maybe get them for the boys for christmas. He thinks that if they are on special now, they will no doubt be on special again.

We were just talking about getting one of these. Hugo is a horrible long distance car traveller and we thought this might help. We wouldn't need two screens though. I might go and see if they have any others on sale.

For car travel I would make sure you can put headphones in them or the noise will drive you insane on a long trip :)

lol, given that all of our car trips, long and short, are accompanied constantly by PLayschool CDs already, I think playschool on DVD would be a blessed relief. At least they stop singing on the show occasionally.

I think they are an excellent idea to keep them busy. Hugo would love it
They've got a single one on Sale for $169 which is pretty good. It comes with all the accessories but I don't know if you can strap it to the back of the front seat :dk:
But there are that many different brands out there, I'm sure you will get them as cheap or cheaper than that.

Well we HAD one! my mom gave it to us for Christmas, it was great for long rides. We really used it a lot for driving to vegas.
Then out dvd/vcr combo conked out so we were still able to watch dvd's on the big tv, by hooking the portable up to it.
We will buy another one when they go on sale, about $149.

DH just bought one from Aldi (of all places!) that comes with everything, back and straps and battery pack and cigarette lighter power cable thing for the same price, we'd priced them around the place and then he found this one (best price and accesories included).

Yes we also replaced our landline cordless phones which stopped working (funnily enough right after Hugo threw one, then the other, in the bath  ) for half the price we paid at Telstra for them several years ago.

Cordless phone? OMG OMG I sooooo miss mine since it died, it just stopped working, no one could hear me talk but I could hear them and answer the phone. I think I dropped it down the hardwood stairs onto tiles a few too many times LMAO LMAO I can't find any cheap ones and I so hate this stupid standard telstra phone.
