That is so cute! I can just imagine him waiting and waiting, wondering where the food is!
How does Ash get on with the python? (or are they in separate places?)

Naomi, we are still putting the finishing touches to the snake's enclosure. The snake is currently living at OH's family's garage (much to their dislike LOL) until we finish this enclosure... It is going to be interesting how Ash gets on with Wilton (the snake).. I think he's going to be watching it night and day :P
Awww feed the poor boy will ya LOL
Monty, can you post a piccy of Mr Snake?

LOL.. He's thinking wow, imagine all the food they can fit in there.
Yes, we'd like to see pics of Mr Snakey.
You need to treat yourself to a new camera, or at least a new phone :P

Yes actually that is OH's phone so I'll tell him what you said I'm sure he'll be highly offended.. its a 3 phone he got a couple months ago LMAO But I definitely need a new phone I'm waiting to end the damn contract with Telstra... but that's another story...
Here's some piccies of Wilton our carpet python (well OH's but if he's in my home he's mine too). He's pretty old now (about 10 years?):

I've often thought about getting a snake as a pet, but I've never actually held a live one before. I used to pick up dead ones off the road when I lived at Kenilworth, but that was after I gave them a few good pokes with a big stick just to make sure they were really dead.
If I did get one, I think I would probably go with a children's python.
Has Wilton ever tried to bite your OH??

Yes Monty, do tell him his phone is crap. We want to see better pics of the "kids"
He looks lovely, I would like a snake. Only down side would be the "food". I don't want them defrosting in my nuker :eww: And of course Jake would want live food
How long do snakes live? He must be doing well to have him over 10yrs.
Thanks for sharing :)
Thanks Monty :D Wilton looks berry scarey! OMG I had no idea snakes could live so long! How long can they live?
Has he ever escaped? Has he ever slithered into your bed whilst your asleep? Does he ever bite? Do you have to feed him live mice ;(
..questions, questions..

Jewly - You lived at Kenilworth!! That's quite a nice place... I remember going there as a child to the cheese factory (name of it I don't know??) and a huge children's play ground... Does that still exist? Children's pythons are lovely and if I were ever to get my own snake it would be that breed. They are very good with kids (hence the name) and are good when handled.
Leigh - Wilton is fed live mice or small rats.. Funny story the last time OH's dad was up here he bought some mice (I think 3) and fed 2 to Wilton and left one in a 'box'. The next day his wife comes in and the mouse has escaped in the garage!! Well she was furious because her husband hadn't put a lid on properly  So they spent the day looking for the mouse which was only about 2m away and hence cleaned the entire garage (which was good cus it was pretty feral) LOL It was pretty funny at the time.
Scarlett - Captive pythons usually live at least 15 years sometimes up to 30's... so it really is a lifelong pet. No he has never escaped (well since I've been around, I think he did when he was smaller), no he never got in to my bed LOL, and YES he BITES. Only because OH never handled him much when he was smaller (I don't know why but OH wanted Wilton's instincts to stay with him so he wouldn't be so 'domesticated' ) And yes he fed live mice or rats.. I feel for rats because I like them as pets :( I hate mice on the other hand because they stink and pee everywhere plus they are pretty dumb when you put them in the cage...
If you were every to get a reptile I think a children's python or lizards are the way to go... At least with lizards you don't have to feed them mice.. you can feed them a variety of things.. Insects, worms etc and you don't have to touch them which is also good. We are looking at getting a couple of lizards later on.

Monty - Zac and I lived at Kenilworth for a year back in 1999 and it was a lovely place to live but it was also scary at times too. After moving there, I found out about an English tourist who had gone missing, never to be seen again and then a few months later, Zac's teacher-aide also went missing and has never been found. I was also approached by a stranger in the exact same place that she went missing, only days earlier, so I had to try and give the detectives a description.
I lived in town right near the police station, which was also their home, so I felt quite safe at night, but after a while, that policeman was transferred out of town (rumour has it, he tampered with evidence) and his replacement wasn't allowed to move into the house, so after that I wasn't quite as comfortable at night. Also, we went through some pretty bad floods and at times the town was completely cut off.
Also, being so far away from everything (approx 40 mins from the nearest major town), whenever anything happened, a rescue helicopter was flown in, and it used to land near my house. After a while I got to really dread hearing the chopper because it usually meant someone had been hurt or died. While I was there too, there just seemed to be an abundance of tragedies and it really hit the town hard each time.
Other than that though, I loved it up there. I lived opposite a huge cow paddock and each morning I would go outside and say good morning to all the girls (dairy farm) and they would look back at me as if I was nuts..lol I ADORE COWS....so I was in my element. I also met a friend who lived on a dairy farm, and I would sometimes help to feed the baby calves if they had lost their mother. When they are learning to drink from a bucket, you actually put your fingers in their mouth to help them suck, which is a weird feeling, but you get used to it.
Zac and I both miss it up there, but it was like living in the middle of nowhere and there isn't a lot of work going up there. I was lucky enough to get a job at the Kenilworth Cheese Factory, at the little gift shop at the front, but a lot of the townspeople didn't think I should have gotten it, because I was an outsider. We have since gone back for a visit a few weeks back and the cheese factory has expanded their range and looks to be doing really well. Also, the park is still there and is still the talk of the town. It's a great place to take the kids for the day.

Wow.. I didn't know so much happened up there. I can imagine it would have been scary to see all that happening around you and Zac. We also used to live near a major helicopter landing area in Gympie and knew what that meant. It was sad (not to mention loud) so I know what you mean about that. I think that is awful that the townsfolk didn't think you deserved the job at the shop! How prejudiced.. But I guess that's what you get with small towns (as I know)... I haven't been up there in years I didn't think the park still existed. Will have to go for a drive one day.I can see now why you and Zac did move now tho..
