1 cup rolled oats**
1 cup plain flour
1 cup sugar ^^
3/4 cup cocnut
125g nuttlex (dairy free butter)
1tbsp golden syrup
1 tsp bicarb of soda
2 tbsp boiling water

preheat oven to 170*c

1. combine oats, flour, sugar^^ and cocnut in large bowl

2. combine butter, golden syrup in a saucepan^^; stir over low heat until butter is melted. combine soda and water, add to butter mixture and stir into dry ingredients while mixture is warm.

3. place 3 tsp sized blobs of mix about 4cm apart on lined trays.

4. bake for about 20mins or until golden brown.

** it's best to use traditional (not quick cook) oats.

^^ i actually put the sugar in the saucepan with the butter and golden syrup and melt them altogether.

to make it into a slice, i recomend melting the sugar with the butter, then once you have combined everything, add it to a glass baking dish and cook it at about 170* - 180* until cooked. slice it while still warm and leave it to cool in the dish. it wont be hard and crunchy, its more morish then that.
