Sorry just had to get off the plug hole topic it was making me sick :eww: LOL

Ok guys whats for dinner tonight...maybe we can give each other ideas...I get so sick of trying to think of something different every night.

We are having roast pork, apple sauce, roast potato and pumpkin, cauliflower with cheese sauce and cabbage. Boring I know but its a true and tried favorite and a sure way of being assured clean plates all round. How about you what are you having?

Patricia :)

Nothing fancy tonight Spag Bol - my mum's recipe - can of Rosella (has to be Rosella Tomatoe soup), garlic and onion and just boil up some Spaghetti.

I tend to grate some Regianno parmgianno into the meat (because it is the only cheese that actually melts and disappears)

Well, as DH has left me at home to fend for myself I've decided I'm going to Patricia's for dinner! Sounds so yummy - you can never beat a roast IMO. Seriously though, I have no idea, we had pasta last night so it will be a bit of a 'have a look in the freezer for inspiration' night - or maybe just an omlette. I hate cooking when it's just me. Hugo will be having some lovely mashed pumpkin/potato/cottage cheese mix, followed by apple puree and topped off with milk (baby food, even home made, is just so unappealing. I will never be one of those mums who finishes off the babies food).

We're having shepards pie....yummo. :P From the Symply too good to be true lowfat cookbooks....I am never lost for making different things now....the books have such a huge variety.

And for desert, I made a lemon meringue pie. (low fat...of course. haha)

We had curry chicken with seeded mustard. Yummy!

I'm on a weight loss plan & the dinners are so yummy, the whole family enjoys it. It also helps as the meals for the week are already planned for me ;)

Your dinners sound so yummy. Wish I could have come to dinner too Patricia LOL
Tuesday night is cricket night. I hate cooking for just the kids and I. So just feed them, and hope he is thoughtful and brings something home LOL.

They get to pick what they want on Tuesdays. Tonight was "egg toast". Last week they wanted Poridge, for dinner  . I guess that is better than chips or something greasy LOL

LOL we had fat free potato chips and baked beans - boring but yum! :pam: Tonight I have nothing in the cupboard, except spaghetti in a tin... If only management weren't so lazy I could have gone shopping today but noooo because of 2 stupid public holidays in a row I've had a late pay

Tonight it is another old favorite, "Beef Chow Mein", also a fave of mine as I get to cook it all in the one dish (well electric fry-pan actually) and save washing up.

For those of you that are interested I brown an onion and then throw in the mince, brown it too, then add some curry powder (however strong you like), then add a packet of chicken noodle soup mix, two tablespoons each of tomato and worstershire sauce, some sliced capsicum, sliced beans, grated carrot and then cook all of that up and at the end I add some finely shredded cabbage...dont like the cabbage to go to soggy.

What are you all having tonight?

Hi Patrica,

We had FIL for dinner, so I cooked a chicken roast :D Out came the gravey jug instead of drowning our roasts in gravey straight from the roasting dish! Followed buy little custard apple-berry pies, with cream in a little matching jug instead of me yelling from the kitchen "who wants cream?" LMAO

And FIL bought me a box of choccies for my efforts :pam:

Well done Scarlett... Im sure it was worth all the effort just to get the chocies. ;)

Thursday nights dinner...

Callum is cooking tonight, he is cooking chicken schnitzel, they did it in cooking class this week so he is keen to show off his prowess. Apparently baked potatoes and a side salad (his words...doesnt that sound posh?!) are also on the menu. It is lovely not to have to think of something to cook and then prepare it.....guess I will be stuck with the washing up tho and u can be assured there will be lots of it!

Whats on the menu at your place this Thursday night?

We have had a very hectic day at the office - and OH has decided that we deserve to go out for dinner - and so we will!

We went shopping after I finished work (so after 8) then finished around 10 to 9 and OH had to ring his parents because they were peeved because he hadn't spoke to them in a month (is this bad??? I guess I wouldn't know LOL) so whilst he was doing that I cooked up some Chicken Cha Sui with rice (easiest meal in the world) which took about 20 mins. Yum yum!! ... Haven't even thought about tonight's dinner

That sounded like an intriguing dish Monty....how do you make it?

I actually spelt it wrong it is Char Siu Sauce (Lee Kum Kee is the brand)

Anyhow its out of a jar!!! You marinate the chicken in the sauce (which can be found in the Chinese food section of the supermarket) for half an hour to 2 hours (whatever you prefer or is easiest) and then fry it for about 20 mins or until chicken is cooked. You can add vegies as well and stirfry those for 5 mins, and serve with rice! Easy peasy. :D

Yum Monty that sounds delish. Nice and easy too so I might even be able to convince Callum to try that one. Thanks for the idea :)

Last night I made one of my favourite dishes.....Chicken and Cashew Noodle Stirfry and it's really easy and so yummy!!

Tonight I'm going to make an indian style chicken curry and have that with rice, pappadams, banana rolled in coconut, and cucumber & garlic in natural yogurt.
