Just been watching/listening to the local news and our public hospital is open until the 2nd July, that's when the staff roster runs out. WTF? We need this hospital to stay open so badly, it's getting colder and Maryborough has a lot of old people living here, we are the heritage city after all. The hospital has been an ongoing battle to stay open for months. Local GP's are even helping out as there are no doctors here they don't want to move out to rural QLD. I personally don't think it's all that rural, we have a beach 30 mins away for pete's sake. Grrr sorry that turned into a vent LOL
Also ont he news this 19 year old kid bashed a 21 year old guy last year and the 21 year old died of head injury so this kid is in court this week. I knew they guy that died. I didn't realsie it until I heard the names on the news the other night. I went to school with him and yeah he was a bad boy but wow I can't believe he's dead. His mum was so cool I always wanted her for a mum when I was younger.

Sad about the Hospital, but seems to be a sighn of the times in smaller areas, I have always lived in small areas and seen this happen often schools, post offices hospitals, then finnally school bus services, I think they want everyone to live in the Citys, really sad as a community can't keep going once they take away there sevices,
not nice to hear someone is dead that you know, weather they were bad or not

It's a shock when you hear something on the news and you know the people involved isn't it Angie?...I knew the Ambo who died in the CQ Rescue helicopter crash a few years back now. My ex hubbie worked with him. He was so young. It was such a shame. We knew him when he volunteered as an ambo to get his hours up before he could qualify to train to be an ambo...

Yeah I dunno why I didn't know when it first happened though, maybe they didn't release the names back then. Just so strange

 for you Angie
Maybe they might just down size the Hospital :dk: It would be a shame if it closed down all together.

Angie Thats terrible about the hospital. We have similar problems here, but we are not rural, Gosford is classed as a city. Our area has a very high population of elderly and low income families, and it is constantly growing with new areas opening up all the time. There are lots of people moving up from Sydney as the housing prices up here are so much cheaper than Sydney but they can't keep up the infrastructure to support the people that are already here let alone the new ones moving up here. OK I've had my whinge now:D
It's never nice to hear about someone you know thats died. Heres some:hug:       for you:)

LMAO LMAO They've downsized as much as they can. You can't have babies here anymore, they don't do surgery, I don't think they even do basic surgery. The maternity ward is still open but only for people from here that get transferred back here after having bubs down the Bay. It's so gay, we also have lots of low income familes and lots of those just pop out babies everywhere. I think if it to ever close down even just A and E a lot more people would die, or they'd just leave town all together. The only doctors we have are the local GP's, we don't even have a paedatrician, they come down here for half a day every week for a clinic.
