So I have some homework to do for this lady that comes out to help me get Gav behaving better. I need to resize pics, more importantly just cut them type thing and I need to add them onto a piece of paper so that I can print it out. I need it in steps kinda thing though. It's basically a new routine for him but using pics of what he has to do. Can I use paint in XP to do this? And word? And how do I do it all?

Do you have Microsoft Word?

If so, go into a new word doc, click on the insert tab (should be 4th from the left up the top), then click on picture. It will bring up clipart or from file. Click on the from file & go to the file where the pics are. Choose your pic & select ok.

If not, try right clicking on the pic & select copy, then go into the doc you want to paste it to, right click the doc & select paste.

Angie, Word should have an image button thing on the toolbar, like the image one in here. If you click on it it should bring up your My pictures folders and you just choose the one you want and it should open up on the page you are using.

Beverley

Angie - that's what I would do to. If you have to resize them I figure you know how to do that, just copy the resized ones into another Folder. You probably already know that.
Barbara - you explained that beautifully.

Have you got Excel? It's a spreadsheet programme in Microsoft Office.

Telori
06-06-2006, 07:49 PM
Yep Excel's the best bet but you could make it up using a table in word, that way you can have as many columns or rows as you want.

Ah just thought. I think word has a calender thing in it. And you use a wizard. It's easy as...

Ooooh ok will check out word first. Thanks :D:D

Barbara

You will need to crop them Angie. Go into the program that has your pics in - you should be able to select the part of the photo you want & then select crop. It will cut out all the other parts of the pic. :)

Beverley

I have found Excel easier to do things in than word with the columns.

I hope you find a calendar in Word Templates though.

Here tis.

Create a calendar

On the File menu, click New.

Click the Other Documents tab.

Double-click Calendar Wizard.

Follow the steps in the wizard.

Crop ahhhh that's that word, I knew there was a word for it LOL I don't have any other pic program besides the Xp paint. The extra progrmas stuff around my files too much and makes me confused looking at pics :brow:

Telori
06-06-2006, 08:20 PM
You can still crop them in paint Angie. Just make a square around what you want and click Cut. Then open a new window (but make sure you click NO when it asks if you want to save - it closes the original picture before it opens a new window). In the new window paste and you will have a cropped section of your photo.

Beverley

How are you going with the calendar thing??

06-06-2006, 08:24 PM
Oh I got it but my stupid dumb ass printer wont print black x( No idea why it's not empty, it has never really printed black

Beverley
06-06-2006, 08:27 PM
I can't help with printers. They have a mind of their own I think.
Why not use a very dark blue.

Did you get it done alright?

Telori

Have you tried the programs I sent you for stuff like this Angie? I'm not sure if they have calenders on them...I use a different program for my calenders...if I make one up...

Luv Angel Musik Babee
18-06-2006, 03:37 PM
Well I printed out the one with all the pics and I'm just doing the calender thing by hand cause I can't change the colour from black and it wont print black. The photo's look funny cause the black bits are just dark and yeah it's all funky LOL but you can still see what the pic is thank god. I need to ring cartridge world or something about the cartridge

Telori
18-06-2006, 03:44 PM
You should have changed the colour to sepia...it makes pics look old...it's pretty cool...and considering you dont have black anyway...

For resizing, cropping, adjusting colours etc etc, download a free program like Irfanview or Ulead. Both are really simple and user friendly. Ulead has additional functions that guide you thru how to make a calender, or greeting cards etc. Its a real fun one to play with. Neither program takes up much room on your harddrive - I have both on mine along with Photoshop (which is a massive program and really technical to use so I am still learning).

Oh I used to use that Teena long long ago when I had windows 98 LOL on my old computer. I've also tried Irfanview but they change all of my pic files to their viewer and you have to look at them through that which highly annyos me so I took it off

Beverley

Angie you are so clever. I couldn't understand a word everyone said! I let Kylie do all of that for me on her computer then she transfers it to mine.

Anytime you load up a photo program it will make itself your default viewer. When you are in My Pictures in the start menu - just right click on the photo and click on OPEN WITH and then select whichphoto program you want to open it in.
