has anyone got a recipe for a stew that is foolproof??

LMAO Chuck everything in the pot and let it go....if it needs thickening I use gravy powder.
Sometimes I will brown onion and meat first depends what flavour I'm after.

yeah go with what teena said, I sometimes use those cook in the pot thingys

Same answer here. Sear the onion & meat together, add broth & veggies. Use biscuits for thickening or dumplings.

I chuck everything in a casserole dish with stock to cover.
Then as it nears the end thicken with gravy powder and cornflour.

i agree with all the above, i thicken at the end if required:yes:
same here & I reakon stew always tastes nicer the next day :d:

Pretty much the same but I dont use stock I use beer or stout..gives it a fantastic flavour!
