At the moment we have a lexmark inkjet black and colour printer. The thing I hate about lexmark is the ink cartridges are so expensive for our printer, they are about $50 each..

We want to upgrade to a print, scan, copy, fax machine that does black and colour but has each colour in a seperate cartridge not all together. We saw a brother one that does this.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Also is a laser printer or inkjet better? can you get a colour laser?

I think laser, bubble, ink jet that sort of thing is for the quality of the image printed out...I assume they will all print colour and black and white.

I've got a lexmark all in one printer but I only pay about $30 for the cartridges...and I can get them refilled for about $20...I can refill them myself but they are a bugger to open.

We have a HP too and it is great, picture quality is the best for photos...and it is so easy to refill. But it's only a printer.

yeah I wish our lexmark cartridges could be refilled. It would be so much easier.

our printer doesn't work too well since jason dropped it when he was unplugging the computer to be packed for our move from Darwin to Sydney. I have wanted an all in 1 printer for ages. Might wait til we get our tax back or the baby bonus and get one then.

we had a lexmark, and yes very expensive for cartrdiges.

we now have a canon all in one, printer, scanner, copier.

we refeilled our lexmark catridges, but only got one refill out of them, and they would go yuk and not work.

I have a Canon all in one printer scanner copier MP370. It takes a black cartridge and a colour cartridge (both usually quite cheap at Aussie Post shops). I believe the next model up in the Canon line uses multiple colour cartridges.

I have printed quite a few photos on it and have found the quality to be great.

I have a HP PSC 1410 all in one it is brilliant but the only problem is that the cartridges are quite expensive $50.00 each but the ink does last forever and ever

Most of the ones I have looked at recently have had 4 spots for ink cartridges, one for each colour. I think i would prefer one of them as with the single colour cartridge I found I was always running out of 1 colour 1st and the other 2 seemed to be wasted.
