I thought you might like to see some pictures of some of the four-legged members of the family.

This is Millie she is a Cocker Spaniel, we rescued her from the pound only hours before she was to be put to sleep as her owners had dumped her before going overseas and told the pound she was incontinent (rubbish!) but she does have a Princess complex and is a real little madam. Millie is about 6 or 7

Next is Ozzie who is a Blue Heeler x Mastiff, he is about 3 and was a present for my English hubby.

Thanks for sharing Patricia :) Is it true that cows come when they are called...? My nana used to say that you could call them and that they weren't stupid...?

Yes Monty Lucy comes running every time I call her. As I think I have said before we have had her since she was a few days old (she was going to be knocked on the head) we brought her home in the back of my hatchback car....on the way we went thru the drive thru at KFC and while we were placing our orders she stood up and started mooing OMG it was so funny. She is very friendly but very wary of Hubby as he is always the one to do something to her that she doesnt like, such as worming or medicating her so really is a mummys girl. A few months ago I thought we were going to lose her as she contracted a disease that cows can get here in QLD called three day sickness. They are usually ill and lie down for 3 days but Lucy was sick and was down for 10 days which is really bad for a cow as they can suffer nerve damage. In the end Hubby and I had to haul her up with a block and tackle for a little while at a time until she finally started taking her weight on her own again. Thank goodness all's well that ends well and she is galloping around the paddock bossing Spirit and Hildergarde the goats again.

Thanks for sharing the furry family Patricia. They are gorgeous!

We used to have cockers spaniels when I was a kids, they are great dogs (VERY naughty puppies tho LOL)

I would love a pet cow, Jersy cows are lovely. I would like a Highland cow  .

Are goats good pets, the only few I have met have not been the nicest, and ate everything in sight LOL. Guess it depends how tehy are raised.

I'd like some sheep too, I used to love going to my grandparents farm in lambing season, and we would go around and collect the orphans and bring them back to the house to bottle feed.

Thanks Patrica for replying. I am glad Lucy is better now. I don't think I have heard of that sickness.. doesn't sound good.

WOW Patricia, your brood are GORGEOUS!!! I love all animals and Millie does look like a princess (lol).

Glad to hear that Lucy is better and galloping around the paddock :) I didn't know that they come when you call their name... I guess with any animal, if they realise that they have a name, most will come when they are called.

I'm sure the KFC staff would have been a little shocked to hear a cow mooing in the back of the car :)
