After a horrible night and worse day (*think happy thoughts*think happy thoughts*) I've just discovered that Hugo has a tooth. I don't know if I'm happy or sad about this. I know it's not a developmental milestone, but it's his first tooth, and yet another "my baby is growing up" moment. I am glad there is a reason that my usually happy, placid baby turned into the screaming cranky baby from my nightmares though.

Oh Naomi how exciting! I remember when my eldest (daughter Janita) got her first tooth through, she was exactly 6 months of age....and now she is almost 16...omg where does the time go? You should enjoy this special time with your darling little boy...how old is he again?

Patricia :)

not quite seven months. Actually in general, I do love this age - he is just learning so much and it's so exciting to watch his personality develop :)

Hi Naomi
The old saying is if you find their first tooth you have to buy them a present.
At least you now know why your Hugo was so upset. Just love it when they grin at you and show off they lovelly white tooth.

Oh his first tooth, hope Hugo doesn't give you too much grief. Is he a good eater?

Awww..first tooth. They grow up too quickly, he'll be moving out before you know it LOL. Hopefully he will be his happy little self again now.

They look so cute when they grin with their little teeth :)

Hayden and Emily didn't get their first teeth till they were 14mths, I got sick of people saying, hasn't s/he got any teeth yet

Michelle, Hugo has been drooling and sticking everything in his mouth for ages, without any teeth appearing (I think it was just a Hugo thing to do) but in the past week or two the drooling has become so prolific, he soaks his shirt in minutes. He was also SO cranky yesterday (which is not at all his normal behaviour) and lo and behold - there was a tooth. We had no other indication, though - no swelling or anything. Let us know when Izzy gets her first tooth!

Floria, he is a brilliant eater. He will just keep going and going. He was a bit iffy on vegetables to start with but now he'll eat anything.

Ritz, there is an Albanian custom that the person who finds the first tooth has to buy the baby a full top to toe outfit (which will be fun! although he already has far too many clothes).

Ptolly-totts - thanks, we took the picture while he was in the bath, he loves baths :)

Oh, and after Sunday night and Monday, he slept so well last night with just one small wake-up at 1.30am. I feel like I've had so much sleep! (And hopefully he'll be able to do it again, fingers crossed).

Awww,a first tooth!! Yet another milestone in a childs life!*L*
Caitlyn didn't get her first tooth until 11 months old,but she also acted the same way.
Of course,i didnt know what was going on with her at the time and nothing i did seemed to make her feel better again..so the same as you,was a real tough night and day...and then there was a tooth showing!!Oh!So THATS way you were so upset..sorry darling..mummys a bit slow on the uptake*LOL*
She has just about got all her top and bottom teeth now, just a gap or two to fill in,so not to bad for a now 2 year old!

Way to go Hugo!!:) And for mummy being able to cope!

Awww, milestones are so exciting and special :)

Speaking of baby teeth, Erin (21) visited the dentist last week, and the dentist confirmed that the extra tooth she has on one side is infact one of her baby teeth that never fell out! Can you believe it! In perfect condition too LOL. She had an xray to check if it was interferring and it's sitting nicely inline with her adult teeth. Btw no fillings needed yet either :)

..opps sorry back to Hugo LOL I hope now that this tooth is through, Hugo will to continue to sleep better :)
