I really really really do. I grew up on them. I was so stoked to see Paul in concert.
Kieren sings Hey Jude all the time. I have some of their Albums too.
What did you all think about the guy who bought that old piece of luggage in Australia, with all the Beatles stuff in it. What a lucky Bastard!
I would not have told anyone.
I played Beatles at my wedding, and I will play them at my funeral too.
When I drive and put the Beatles on, I can never have road rage.. I just am in a good mood.. If everyone listened to the Beatles then we would have a better world.. I think..lol
007 is on and they were playing, live and let die.. thats what brought this on.

Excuse me Gina!!!! One word - ELVIS.
He is King.
I really like the Beatles too, but Elvis is it as far as I'm concerned. Loved the beatles and most of their songs, love John Lennon's "Yesterday". I can't believe that Paul just turned 64.

Are you familiar with their song "She's Got A Ticket To Ride"
Know what it is about?

I know the song but not the reason behind it. There was an interview not long ago with Paul and he was talking about how come of the lyrics came about. Not at all what I would have thought.
Tell me??

They are actually speaking about prostitution.. they were in Amsterdam, and it is legal there. She has a ticket to prostitute(ride)
Not a lot of people know that..
And "Hey Jude" by Paul Mc Cartney.. That is about Lennon's first son Julian, whom he did not even acknowlege in his will. Julian had to fight with Yoko for any $$. I dont think Julian even really cared for the $$. Paul called Julian "Jude".
Here on the radio on Sunday we have " Breakfast With the Beatles" and they play songs and talk about them .. lots of info
My favorite song if " Golden Slumbers"

FIL had a full collection of Beatles records, all signed ... stolen from the back of his car when he was moving once. Imagine what that would be worth now

Gina - thanks for that information. You would enjoy Sunday mornings then wouldn't you.
I don't think I know that song - Golden Slumbers. Can you sing a bit of it for me?? I will try to find a site where I can hear it.
Naomi - your poor FIL. That would have broken his heart.

It was a very very short song. my dad use to always sing to me. It is a lullaby song
GOLDEN SLUMBERS
Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullabye
Golden slumbers fill your eyes
Smiles awake you when you rise
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullabye
Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullabye
They played tons of Beatles songs in the movie "I Am Sam"
with Dakota Fanning and Sean Penn..this was one they played

I really loved the way they used the Beatles songs in that film. Each one was perfectly placed in the scene.
I too love the Beatles and recently went to a concert called Let It Be. It starred 3 very talented Aussies and a Brit turned Aussie. Those overseas wont know who I am talking about but the aussies will. It was John Waters, Christine Anu, Rick Price, and Leo Sayer.
They all sung the songs of LennonMcCartney - as a foursome, as duets, and solos.
Christine Anu did some stunning ballads - especially a really slowed down version of Eleanor Rigby and a sweet version of Blackbird.
John did a mix of ballads and some huge rock numbers - as you know he has his own Lennon show so he has a lot of personal favourites that he performs really well - but he also did one he hasnt done before - Butterfly ? I think thats what it was called - it wasnt one that I knew well but very sweet song.
Rick Price was a surprise - I had forgotten what a good voice he had. He did a massive loud rock version of Back in the USSR and them immediately sat down on a stoll with just his guitar and did the sweetest version of "Shes leaving home" that I have ever heard - he got a standing ovation for it.
Leo was a disappointment. He kept forgetting the words and just mumbled his way thru it all. As my mum said "they are Beatles songs - how could anyone forget the words ????".
The night ended with a huge audience singalong of Hey Jude - fun !!!!
It was a lovely night. An interesting way for Beatles fans to hear their favourite songs live again with a huge band and even a string section. And a great way for fans of each of the artists to hear them sing old favourites with their own interpretation.
I hope it tours again next year - its the kind of show that could tour each year with a different 4 artists.
