Do you keep the buttons that come with clothes? I have just been cleaning out my desk and I had so many of those little packets of 1 button, I have no idea what half of them were for so tossed them all.
I have never really needed the spare, wouldn't know how to sew it on anyway LMAO

Yes I do too Leigh.
When I moved to Brisbane I found a million and gave them to my sister. She's a sewer.
I've never had to use one either. I find the hems sometimes come down, but the buttons stay on.
I can sew though.

Just noticed- you are pissed off. Any reason in particular?

LOL Leigh, I sometimes keep them but I generally forget where I put them and I find them if I move or have a big clean out so I just throw them out :Hehe:

Thankyou Patricia very kind of you. Yes I have seen them too but I think they ask just a wee bit to much for them, I'm not begrudging that it goes to charity.

I often buy the big bottles of buttons from the op shop as I use heaps in my sewing :) I keep all the spare buttons from new clothes & if something is going in the rag bag I cut off the buttons & zips

I used to love playing with my nana's Button Jar when I was little. I should start one now.

I prefer it when the spare button is sewn onto the tag in the seam (like mens business shirts), it's much easier to find them if the spare is needed.

So Yomamma, if I find all my spares, would you want them? do they need to match because I think they're all different?

Any donations would be nice thankyou, they don't need to match at all makes it more creative.
Jo when Sally was at daycare they made photo frames for mothers day and decorated them with buttons, then put a photo of the child in it. It looks very good and has held together after all these years.

I have heaps but use them on my sewing as well. I actually went to Spotlight the other day & they had bucket loads for sale so I bought up big to add to the collection :)
