I took myself and Miss 4 off to the Drs on Monday, and we were done. It didn't hurt as much as I thought. Miss 4 decided she wanted to go first, so I let her, and she didn't even cry, she was very brave :)

DS was supposed to be done as well, but he has a cold, so the Dr said to wait until he is over thet.

DD (16) is an absolute freak when it comes to needles, so DH can take her :hehe:

Has anyone else gone and got themselves jabbed?

I haven't got the flu shot this year. I've only done it once and that's because I was working in a medical practice at the time.

I've never had a flu shot; I might wait until I've cranked up some insane sick leave hours to get it because no doubt I'll come down with it.

But because I take PT I might get a surgical mask because people are already starting to cough, sneeze and splutter... eewww.

I know a lot of us kid about the s/mask, but I think one SHOULD wear one, partic if you're in and around a load of people.... I can cringe when someone sneezes or coughs with out covering their mouth, or does so and then wants to shake hands.... gross!!!!

Saw a note from our Manager yesterday....vaccines have arrived and he would "really appreciate" all staff signing the consent forms for the injection.
Will do mine today.

I asked the Manager tonight, who was to give the needles....he said he probably would and that he had never felt any pain when he gave them ....ha ha

The new needle I got was so small, the nurse showed me, I could barely see it. It still hurt though but only when the stuff was getting injected, not the actual prick.

I make sure I get the flu shot every year cause if I don't I get VERY SICK, like I already have this year and went to hospital, so I think the flu needle is a godsend (for me anyway)

I'm not having it, I haven't had the standard flu shot either this year. :shh:

I get sick every year when I do have it so this year I've given it a miss to see if I get sick. I'm working in a low risk environment at the moment (office workers who stay home even if they have a sniffle or a headache) with barely any clinical contact so I figured if I was going to go without any year, this year would be it. I work with others who never have the flu shot and never get sick. And I only started getting a seasonal flu in the warmer months when I started having the Fluvax. Maybe the two are related, maybe they aren't but I'm sure I can do without the stock standard 48hr throbbing headache that I get after each Fluvax. :dk:

I have the flu needle every year without fail. I have not had a cold or flu for over ten years now, even after sitting on trains and buses with people coughing and sniffling....not sure why, just don't get them any more.
