I am glad someone posted about cameras. I do not have a digital yet--I know, so behind the times--but Matt is getting me one for my birthday. Does anyone have a suggestions as to an affordable camera with great quality? I am looking at some of the Kodak ones that have a printer dock with it.

jason has a digital canon one, its about 5 yrs old. We also have a digital jvc video camera which is about 2 yrs old. I wanna get my own camera so I have one to use whenever he goes away to sea.

I have a Kodak Easy Share CD40 digital. My son gave it to me for Christmas.
I just love it. So much fun & easy to use. Caroline you're going to love it.

Well I am excited !! Yesterday I upgraded my 4 year old Canon A30 (now donated to Mum !!) and bought a Canon S2 IS. Its gorgeous !!!

It has 12 optical zoom and 48x digital zoom (and if the weather improves I might get out onto my balcony and test that zoom out on the moon !!).
Its ummm lets see - 5 megapixels.
Its got antishake - that I like !!!
It has amazing macro so you can do extreme closeups - you know - like stamens of flowers etc.
It has unlimited video with sound.

Thats all I have discovered so far - am only a quarter of the way through the instruction booklet !!!!!

For those who are looking for a camera - there is a website I really recommend. It does reviews on every camera in the world. It compares them to previous models and similar models in other brands and buyers can add their comments. Real photography pro's use the site so a lot of it is really technical. But I really valued the info I got from the site and it heped me narrow down my choices. Its here http://www.dpreview.com/

I have a Kodak Z740, with a printer dock. The quality of the prints are excellent. I haven't had the camera very long so am still learning all the bits and pieces it does. I am very pleased with it. I also have another kodak digital a cheaper one which is fairly basic but does a good job.

Oh, wow. I am so exited to check out that site, now. Thanks! And, I am glad to hear that everyone is loving the Kodak EasyShares. It really seems to be what we are leaning towards. I wish August 31 was tomorrow! :) I'll let you know which one I pick and which one he gets me! :)

Yeah I have been watching the S2IS for about 7 months now. The site that I use for camera reviews rated it far higher than its newer model the S3 and its older model the S1 - so I simply waited for the S3 to get released - knowing the S2 would drop below $500. And when it did - I snapped one up !! This week I took an awesome photo of the full moon - the quality is amazing.

I have always had an olympus - I lost mine this week but rather than go through the hassle of picking another one - I just bought the identical one off ebay - again.

I am hanging out for our tax returns so I can get me a new one! Our old one chucked it in, and havent had one now for about 8months, have been borrowing my brothers every now and then tho.
