its not something new its been around for a long time but it doesnt seem widely known about.....
its called Stevia and its an artifical sweetner without the chemicals....
the dietican told me it was the better product to buy...
anyway i went to 2 chemists and they had no clue so i went to the health food shop and she smiled and said tablets or powder...
anyway i bought the tabs 250 for $19.95...
it was a little hard dissolving in my cup of tea though.
i have just going to google and find out about it.....

I have the powder version, it is much better than sugar and a million less calories. Friend who I used to work with told me about it. I also find I don't crave sugar as much now and I limit myself to two cups of tea a day (don't drink coffee).

Are you able to use it in cooking like other artificial sweeteners?

I looked it up and there is variety of recipes substituting Stevia for sugar. Sounds good.

I use it all the time, instead of sugar. What you need to know is that is is about 100 times sweeter than sugar, so don't go putting a spoonful of it in your coffee.
