Hi guys,

Was just wondering what you do to make yourself feel better, when you are feeling sad and down at times. We all get that way from time to time, and I was just interested to hear what you all do....
When I am feeling a bit flat and maybe down, I will try and get some nice sleep, I LOVE gardening and I find that it re-energises me..........and some yummy chocolate doesn't go astray at times.......hahaha
What does everyone else do?

Cheers,
Louise

Chocolate's good :D

Also sleep or doing something just for me - scrapbooking, pampering, talking to a friend on the phone...

I also find a long, hot shower and a good cry work wonders.

I'm with you Mel...CHOCOLATE is a great stand-by. I also find Pistachio nuts cheer me up..(dont ask me why!!) A sleep is a good healer and so is a good laugh... a hug does wonders as well.

I tend to just mope around for a while on my own until I'm feeling better or a bit of retail therapy can be good.

Sorry I forgot to say that spending time with my animals always cheers me up. A lick from a drooly dog, a cuddle from a smoochy cat, a butt from a spoilt goat or a big slurp from a cow that thinks she is human always makes my world seem like a better place :):)

I think a pampering always helps. Maybe some champagne LMAO
Shopping is also good, but if I cant afford it, it can make me feel more down.

Retail therapy is bad for me!! I will just get more depressed especially if its clothes :( Maybe I should try jewellery... :)

I usually go for a walk/do some exercise, eat some chocolate (something really yummy that I haven't had in ages so its a treat), sleep after a big cry, long hot shower.... I sometimes watch movies with friends as well :pam:

I go and cuddle my cats or dog :) And then have a long bath and pour everything I can find into it!

Usually if I'm feeling down about something I talk to my hubby to either "fix" the problem or just get it off my shoulders. If he is the problem then I will usually chat to a friend :Hehe: . If someting makes me feel sad that I can't change I will usually spend time with my family or close friends  Hugs are good.
I'm very lucky- not a lot really gets me down.

Heres some hugs for everyone next time your feeling blue

I like to talk to hubby otherwise, I'll have a nice sleep or perhaps watch a funny movie to cheer me up.

Usually it depends on why I'm down. I still have episodes of grief from my stillborn baby girl from 3 1/2 years ago. This is just something I need to ride out, and cuddle my kids lots.

If its just life, hubby or a need for me time, I try to do coffee and chocolate cake with a friend, or I will buy some fancy beads and make some really nice jewellery.

I would have a good cry and then have a sleep but now that I have a 2 year old girl who doesn't stop talking :tyeo: and is always saying the funniest and cutiest things, I find I am constantly laughing or at least smiling.

Oh my gosh.......we all have such wonderful ways of making ourselves feel better, or pulling ourselves out of a rutt so to speak.......Well done everyone!!!

And thank you to everyone who shared their stories..........

I am always inspired by how truely resiliant people can be!!!

A cry, a nice long bath with the candles lit and most importantly CHOCOLATE.
