Query: QLD - G/C & BNEn || Hairdressers

Hey people... my Mum is really upset with the 17 hair dressers that she's visited since moving to the Gold Coast. She has grey hair & the colours don't last long enough; the 'style' doesn't hold long enough and/or is wrong.

Can anyone suggest a tried & tested hair dresser/ stylist?

I don't know any M. My sister or my DD does my colour,which is only a pkt one. My hair has grey in it, but the colour stays in well.
Has your mum tried to do it at home? It only lasts a month before regrowth shows anyway. What is she looking for exactly?
If the style is not holding, that could be because of her hair type. Lots of reasons maybe..

Obviously I can be no help from a location point of view, but my hair grows out quickly as well and have to have it touched up every six weeks... at a stretch maybe, maybe eight. Ja, the style not holding out could have something to do with her hair type. Mmm not sure though.... think it's all over... so hard to find a decent all round hairdresser :blink: I go to two different salons.... one to cut my hair and the other to colour!!! Sorry not much help here.

All I can say Maliss is that I no longer colour my hair as it fades within a few weeks (and less than the usual 6).....seems I may have a hair type similar to your Mothers.
Perhaps she should be looking for someone who will give her a fantastic style....and forget the other.

Mal, my DD goes to a salon at Waterford, on Loganlea Rd. It's called *Red Cat Hair*. She says ask for Janelle. She said try that salon..

I go to Magoo Designs at Bethania..Shandelle does mine ..she is great ..well I think so :)

I go to one just up the road from me Tanya's Tangles at Mount Warren Park. cuts and foils my hair.. Not a bad job and I have tried a few out too.. prices are reasonable.. My hairdresser name is Cara..

It depends what her budget is Maliss. Jacinta at TMH Logan is very good but she's not the cheapest. Good colourist and a good cutter. But I don't have grey hair. :)

I don't think Mum would mind paying as long as it was 'right'. I'll forward everyone's suggestions.

In Melb the colours in her hair would last around 8 weeks; but in QLD she's lucky for them to last for 3 weeks. The style is more about the 'set' staying for more than 1 day. In this regard, in Melbourne with 1 roller at the cowlick on her crown she could go 1 week before the 'blow out' would drop; I saw her the day after her last 'styling' and it was all over the place.

She would never ever ever ever colour her own hair. She'd be willing to go to the same hair dresser every week for a 'styling' and occasionally colour etc.

But I will certainly pass along everyone's suggestions. Thanks!!!

Another good one is Hair Gallery at Beenleigh :yes: I take a client there every Thursday ...her H/D is Mim..she is a mature lady ..my client has been going there over 20 years...she always does a good job .
