i purchase from them 7 dinners and 5 lunches....
i have still been able to eat out about 2-3 times a week , i just watch what i order.

after watching that i wasnt worried as they said it was meals for nursing homes and also restaurant meals, the restuarant was easy to pick as they added pasta to their meals a few years ago....
you find those shows are their to scare you...
if it was true why didnt they name the brand i wonder.....

I agree with you Melinda. I buy frozen lasagne at times and, touch wood, we've not been sick from them.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, I must say after around 4 years of carrying an extra 20-30kg (and numerous attempts at dieting) I'm kind of excited to be starting L&E.

You name it I've done it! Hypnosis, colonics, detox diets, weight watchers ...

So I'm looking forward to a sensible calorie controlled low fat meal plan (and no grocery shopping!!).

:)

Mad Old Cow

Good luck with it LG i have heard of many people losing the weight with L&E

Lush Gal

Plus I have a confession to make ... I really like frozen meals and I *love* hospital food!

So I'm not to worried about the frozen dinners, plus the lunches look waaaaaay nicer then anything I'd bother to prepare for myself.

:)

I'm going to weigh / measure Friday morning before my first L&E meal. Hoping to *finally* drop this weight!

:)

I honestly always wrote it off, thinking "oh it's too dear, OH (who is an awesome, gourmet style cook) would poo poo the idea".

Then I saw an ad on Saturday whilst watching tele with OH and he looked at me and said "I would support you if you wanted to do that, it'd work out cheaper then cooking at home and it's *real* food not shakes".

I thought why not? And it will work out cheaper for sure - last night, two plates of Indian (incl naan etc) cost us $28.

I'm just really excited and optimistic. Having really tried it all this seems to make sense. Melinda do you enjoy the food?

Mandi
08-09-2010, 01:19 PM
2 plates of indian you cooked yourself or bought take-out? $28 is a lot for a home cooked meal......

Yes i enjoy it i have only had one meal that i wouldnt order again....
i think though with the breakfast's you can do it yourself, i did their brekkies for 2 weeks then just did my own after that...

i agree with the price of takeaway's when you compare its not expensive and thats exactly what we were doing we were ordering takeaway 4-5 nights a week , so actually being on this is saving money not to mention the health benefits...

Lush Gal
08-09-2010, 01:24 PM
Dine in at a take out style Indian. OH is a big eater so had two naan, a large plate and pokora. My half was a $8 plate and raita ($3?) and some of his naan and a diet coke.

Don't get me wrong home cooking is very economical if you manage it well. We always have, buuuuuut, OH has gone back to uni for a complete career change + taken up sport of a night and I'm working longer hours and have a wee doggy now who takes up an hour each night exercising him (I do adore our strolls), so convenience is a huge factor in the L&E choice.

Melinda

It's just been a hectic few years, and I've literally piled on an extra 20-30kg. :(

But I'm excited - I'm not expecting quick results like I did with the diet shakes, just healthy, portion controlled food.

And no grocery shopping ... sigh, heaven! :)

Mandi
08-09-2010, 01:36 PM

Oh I did it for 6 weeks, lost 7 kg! Then re-gained it all plus an extra 5kg!

I was a thorough nutbar on them. They really messed me up. When you find yourself sobbing and saying to your gorgeous OH "why .... sniffle, sniffle, sob gasp, would you, sob sob, ever order garlic bread in FRONT of me?". You'd have thought he'd shagged my mother! lol

Good God I havent heard that expression for years!!
I was thinking maybe the meals for hubby because when I am at work its easier to go and buy a pie than make a sandwich for lunch. He is putting weight on and he cant afford to:(
I will have to go and look at the site I wonder if they deliver up here??

That's a shame Jen. If you made hubby's lunch before you went to work would he eat it? That might be the only way around it. :dk:

Ok, day five of L&E ....

I am enjoying it, lots of variety and a fair whack of fresh food. I do feel I could replicate the programme myself buuuut I have no self control with portions, so best to stick to it for a while to get my diet kick started and my body satisfied with 1500 cals a day.

I must say I'm not missing artificial sweetener in my tea or my Coke Zero - I thought I'd be ready to knife someone at this point without my sacharine! :)

So I've stuck very closely to the programme since starting Friday morning.

I've walked for 45-60 mins a day.

No artificial sweetener and loads of water.

And .... drum roll ... I'm normally a rather big drinker (I like my wine time after work), three tiny * for me at least* lol (measured them at 120mL) glasses of red only - and that was Saturday night.

I feel very good. Here's hoping I lose some weight!

Cherie

Lush Gal
14-09-2010, 01:30 PM
Me too!

I'm going out on Friday night for my birthday (which is actually Monday) but I intend to eat my normal L&E daytime food and just skip the frozen tea (yummy a la carte meal here I come!).

I'm missing my wine time ... sigh ... but I know I need to make sacrifices to shift this 20-25kg.

I am actually enjoying exercise too which is lovely, my little dog is really enjoying the regular walks too (we'd normally only do 4-5 times a week and are now doing every day, sometimes twice). :)

Lush Gal
14-09-2010, 06:46 PM
Thanks guys!

I must admit I felt really low at 4.30pm-5pm today, hungry, craving a BIG fat snitty with chips and a BIG fat glass of wine lol ...

But I had great support from hubby who listened to me whinge. Then I poured a glass of non alcoholic shiraz (200 cals a bottle), heated up my L&E green curry and actually really enjoyed both. They weren't what I wanted but I got over it. lol

I have had this weight on for 3 years, a few weeks of adjusting to lower cals / less (still having a few on the weekends) wine won't kill me right? :)

So yep, resolved to just stick with it for a few weeks (it is really quite good), then start to re-introduce my own calorie and portioned controlled L&E style food. Losds of f&v, grains and lean protein.

Ugh. Once the weight comes off I am never letting it creep back on again! I've yo-yoed for my whole twenties! I'm thirty one on Monday! :D

I'm really proud I didn't cave last night. I order my delivery again today (delivered tomorrow, day one of the cycle being Friday). I'm on holidays next week for my birthday (which is Monday) so will be bumming around the house, reading gardening etc. I thought at first I might not order as I'm home, but knowing what an eating machine I can be when left to my own devices I've decided to order! I'll skip a few dinners in the week (family get togethers etc for b'day), but I'm not going to be too hard on myself, njust do a bit of extra walking. :)

Heather
15-09-2010, 06:25 AM

I'm weighing in each Friday morning. I'm a bit confused though about my start weight.

All of last week I sort of weighed in, in the lead up to my official start on Friday, and I fluctuated betwewen 76-78. (NB I'm barely five foot). On Friday my weight was 76.8kg so I've noted that.

I'm really keen to see how long it takes to get under 70 - I'm hoping to look uber hot for Blondie in December lol! :D

Ok, after five days of adhering to the plan exactly I think, just think, I'm going to have a glass or two of wine tonight as I feel like one or two (not due to stress like yesterday), Melinda did you still drink on L&E? Was it you that was doing it? Thanks in advance.

I went on the lite n easy some years ago when I split up with my partner.. At that time I did save on money and time going to supermarket.. And lost the weight gained through the separation.. Yes I still had me odd glass of chardonnay. I did lose 10 kilos.. Anyways keep it up and good luck..

Ok so Wednesday was atrocious!!! A "couple" turned into a few too many wines! I paid for it with a thumper headache yesterday.

Weighed in this morning (start of week 2 on L&E) and have lost exactly 1kg. Feel good. Had cake / wine / normal dinner at my brother's last night for the combined birthday (my nephew turned three, Dad 65 me 31 all within a week of each other).

I feel a little fuzzy after even just 2 wines and some sugary cake.

I think .... I may .... just stick to soda water / non alcoholic wine for a while! GASP! Huge thing for me! :haha:

Well I've been absent as I had last week off work for my birthday and our internet at home was running painfully slow ...

I ate loads of cake, drank loads of booze and ate out a fair bit last week, but enjoyed it and am back at work and on the L&E bandwagon. Admittedly I didn't eat / drink half as much as I normally would on a birthday week / week off work - so I did exercise "some" restraint! :haha:

Am still enjoying L&E with the odd night off to have a steak with OH. It's a very good programme and i'm eating loads of f&v and wholegrains on it.

Hope everyone is well. :)

Gee well I've liked them all. I wasn't keen on the fish, I cooked it in the oven instead of the micro thinking it would go crisp but it didn't :(
I liked the peppered beef.

You do all of them in the oven? I've only done the one, tonights. I found with my microwave I need to add two minutes to the recommended cooking time and if you can feel any cool spots on the bottom of the tray, it needs a bit longer :-)

I still want some cheesecake......

Lite 'n' easy is exactly that. I've done this for almost a year, as I'm bloody awful in the kitchen. But please stay away from their Thai food. It should be sold to the department of works as "pot hole filler."
