Please Read--WARNING FROM THE NRMA - PLEASE PASS ON TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW

You walk across the car park, unlock your car and get inside. Then you lock all your doors, start the engine and shift into REVERSE, and you look into the rear-view mirror to back out of your parking space and you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. So, you shift the gear stick back into PARK, unlock your doors and jump out off your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view.
When you reach the back of your car that is when the car-jackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off!! Your engine was running, you would have left your purse in the car and they practically mow you down as they speed off in your car.

BE AWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED IN SYDNEY AND COULD SPREAD ACROSS AUSTRALIA Just drive away and remove the paper that is stuck to your window later, and be thankful that you read this email. I hope you will forward this to
friends and family.
A purse contains all identification, and you certainly do NOT want someone getting your home address. Especially when they already HAVE your HOUSE KEYS!!!

This is an urban legend. SEE SNOPES ARTICLE (http://www.snopes.com/crime/warnings/carjack.asp)

might be an urban legend but it could still happen, anything is possible nowadays

Yes it might still happen, but it's not a scheme that is spreading across Sydney. It's as likely to happen as any kind of car jacking.

Why do people do that? It is not right to upset people with such lies..especially vunerable ones who are uneasy about driving as it is. Circulating this kind of nonsense could be enough to send them over the edge.

Not you Jodie..the instigators I mean..:)

It annoys me too ... not this one particularly but the ones about 'sick children'. I think it's horrid to prey on people's kindness like that :(

Like people dont have enough to worry about these days. Even if it is an urban legend which quite possibly it is, thank you for posting that and looking out for the welfare of people. Tho i doubt i will even think twice about it. Unless i do get that piece of paper on my window. ( dont jinx myself here) .

Our car is such a heap that half the time I don't bother locking it. If someone steals it, they deserve it. The doors don't open properly, you belt your knees on the steering column, it's loud, it's hot, it smells like old car.

Thanks for keeping us on out toes... We sometimes forget this world is not as safe as we would wish it to be.
