It's so hot, the stress on the power grid can't cope (with all the air conditioners etc being used) and there's no power in a section of Central London :O (sorry can't find an article link, just saw a story on CNN)
But ... eek! That hot, and no power!
I believe it has been a very hot summer all over Europe. They will be pleased for some cool weather with their Autumn around the corner.

It has been a hot summer for all of up here in the Northern Hemisphere. California and the NorthEast US are experiencing power grid problems, too.
I wish our gov't would wake up and do something about Global Warming!!

Get real Caroline there isn't any money in it for them.
Between forest fires & the heat it's terrible. How much livestock has died cause of the heat?

I forget the number I heard but it is truly astounding. I know the farmers in Eastern CO are having to get help from the gov't for money because of all the ruined crops.
What makes me sad are the elderly that don't have enough money for utilities that they are finding dead from heat exhaustion, etc. We need to be taking care of our citizens.

I agree Caroline our government should be thinking more about us. Instead they are so busy worring about how others think about America, that they are not putting the interest of the American people first. Our seniors is 1 example.
That's my view anyhow.
Now I'll get off my soapbox.

Ouch the poor people in the UK would have no clothes LOL Isn't it normally cold all year round over there :hehe:
Actually that is the reason why Gav's school doesnt have air cons, they're all insatlled in roof but they cant use them cause of the power grid its on, they need to upgrade it before they can use them, they got all the funding for the air cons and now they're useless LOL

We don't have airconditioning in Breckenridge. It rarely gets hot enough to use it here. Actually, this summer during the heat wave a couple of weeks ago was the only time I have wanted it, living here.
I can't imagine going without in 90+ degrees...

I didnt' think they would have air cons...its usually doesn't get that hot even in summer does it?...probably showing my ignorance here....
Does this mean we are in for a long hot summer as well?....

I don't know Teena ... I think this winter has been colder (at times) than the last couple of years. We'll be over there in just under 4 weeks and I'm really hoping it will have cooled down a bit by then :O
Edit - oops I mean just under 3 weeks :O :O Shouldn't I be doing something to get organised?

:hehe: It seems the norm with the ladies in here to pack the night before!...I could never do that...I"m packed at least a week ahead and then I check everything off a list to make sure I haven't forgotten anything...I'd be a wreck if I ever went overseas....
