I am watching the breaking news on CNN right now.

Seems that Fidel Castro is having MAJOR intestinal surgery and has temporarily handed over power to his brother.

There is huge celebration in Little Havana, Miami, FL...the largest community of Cubans in the US...

Many leaders are saying that this is a indication that his reign is on its way out since he has NEVER been into sharing his power in ANY way. There have been rumors on his deterioriating condition for a few years now.

This could be an impetus to changes for Cuban exiles in and outside of the US. Not much news on it yet...I have a feeling we will be seeing more.

He's been in charge since the late 50's. I remember the Bay of Pigs incident well. That happened when I was in the 8th grade. Hopefully this will mean a change for the better for the Cuban people.
