Hi everyone,

As Erin (my daughter for those who don't know) mentioned in a post in the Pet forum (Holidays at Rosanne's) we are taking her on a holiday for her 21st birthday. Her brother Lee, who is now 23, didn't want a party at the time either, so this is kind of for him too :) Well, actually it's for us, as they have grown up, no longer called Teenage Dirtbags, moved out of home, and have got on with their own lives. Which got us thinking it could be about the last oportunity we can have a holiday as a family for a long time. If they start families of their own, before we know it they be saying " come on poor old mum & dad, we better take them on a holiday before they go into the home" :faint:

So, we are off on the 27th of March departing Brisbane on the Sunlander train, overnighting to Prosperpine. Then take the Bus to Airly Beach, staying one night there. On the 29th we set sail on a yacht to sail around the Whitsundays! Erin's birthday is on the 31st, so we will plan a special day for that! Then Fly home from Hamilton Island on the 4th of April

We are really looking for ward to the train trip just as much as the sailing. Has anyone been on the Sunlander? Or overnighted on a train before?

Train, Bus, Boat & Plane :bg:

Wow what a great trip you have planned !! I think it's wonderful you're all doing something as a family, everyone is sure to have such a good time.

I have never been on an over night train or a yacht either! Yacht sounds good if it's smooth sailing otherwise I have terrible visions of sea sickness, touch wood!

Hi Chezz,

Thankfully none of us get sea sick, but really rough seas that can make anyone really sick. What a pity we can't take the burms this time LOL

I've done the Ghan Alice Springs to Adelaide.

It costs us a thousand dollars for one night on the train and it was small. It's the most expensive hotel room I've ever had.

The beds were single ones but that was okay we worked it out - ah young love!!!! LOL

Sounds like a great family holiday planned.

Do the burms know they are going on a little "holiday" too? LOL. Pity timing wasn't better otherwise I would volunteer to babysit them for you. I'd have K & K as well, ahhh a house full of burms running amok.

Oh Pam, you lucky thing. It sounds lovely (Though I must say, I dislike boats in the ocean, too scary for me)

How will you all go all on a small boat for so long. I think my lot would end up killing each other, if I didn't get to them first LMAO

Have a lovely trip, we look forward to hearing all about it, and seeing some pictures :)
