I have locked myself out of the house a few times in the past so I'm pretty paranoid about that. I check ..and re-check.. yep got the keys... have I? Oh yes, I have.. in my hand

I haven't locked myself out in a while (only because I forgot to lock the laundry door and so that's not counted as being locked out :P )

What little things are you very cautious about?

Mine would have to be checking over and over that the iron is unplugged if I have been using it. Another is checking gates....I have a phobia of our animals getting out and getting run over.

I do the iron thing too, but with any electrical appliances. Heater, oven and hairstraightener being the main ones.
I have never locked myself out of the house though ;) Have locked the keys in the car!

Oh yes Monty, the cats escaping is on my list too! Sneaky little turds LOL Sao is the worst offender ..but he's the easist to catch and he often comes back meowing at the door "let me back in" ...LOL I I haven't even noticed he was out!

I don't have to worry about ironing plug ..I rarely iron :P

I do the iron thing and the cat thing, too.

My real panic is locking keys in the car. (Our 'old' car doesn't have central locking so it's really easy to do). I've done it once and fortunately I'd already taken Hugo out, but it meant I was locked out of the car and out of the house because I hadn't unlocked the front door yet. So now I check EVERY time, even with the 'new' car (which has remote locking so it's almost impossible to lock the keys in).
