Reminds me of the book Life of Pi, by Yann Martel. It's about a boy who drifts across the Pacific for thousands of miles (excuse me, kilometers) -- the twist is that there's a real live tiger in the boat, as well. A good read.

I love Life of Pi!
Wow...this is crazy. I can't imagine being trapped on a boat like that for 9 months...and eating the raw birds and fish...AWFUL!
