We are talking about going on a holiday, which is really exciting! We went to the UK in November last year to introduce Hugo to DH's relatives (his father, grandparents, uncles, aunts etc are all over there, and Hugo is the first grandchild on his side). Hugo was 4 weeks old when we left, and I had a whopper of a dose of baby blues so you can imagine how much fun that 'holiday' was for me (Hugo was great, I was a mess). We've done a few short trips to Tamworth to visit my family (but not really a 'holiday' as such).

DH has been flat out with work and he's also studying at the moment but we have a fairly quiet time in June/July so we're thinking of going somewhere then.

We don't want to go too far (no more than a few hours by plane, I guess) and don't really want a driving holiday as Hugo has suddenly started crying every time we put him in the carseat. We don't really need child-friendly activities as he's still happy being in the pouch or pram while we do our thing, but we can't spend all day doing just one thing as we need to fit naps and meal times in for him, so I guess somewhere with a range of different things to do wouldbe good.

Where would you go?

(We're kind of thinking maybe NZ or Tassie?)

Hi Naomi,

We found Fiji to be very child friendly :) We went with another couple and their 2 toddlers.

Great news you are off on a holiday, let us know where you decide to go. They have some good specials to Fiji atm seeing's a lot of travel agents are avoiding Bali.

We found Fiji to be very child friendly as well. The Fijian people love children especially babies. :)

We go mostly within a couple of hours drive from home!!

A couple of sites that might help are www.byokids.com.au & www.4kidz.com.au - they are both starting up, but have some great ideas & activities for kids. The owners of BYO Kids are currently travelling around NZ, checking the place out :)
