Harry, being a typical Golden Retriever, is prone to weight gain. As I have to really watch is food intake, I've been giving him lots of beef hides to keep his mind off food ..are they fattening tho? I know they are excellent for his teeth, great jaw excerise etc.. but it just occured to me to wonder if they are fattening. And how many would be too many? I would imagine too many beef chews in his tummy would'nt feel very nice ..are there any dangers with feeding beef hides that I should be aware of? He loves his bones from the butcher, but can't give him one everyday my garden couldn't cope LOL I have to give Harry the beef hides to eat in the loungeroom, otherwise he just burys them in the garden! He's got me fooled!
