Is vegemite safe for cats?

I don't want to go into it, but suffice to say, Barney ate vegemite today - and seemed to enjoy it a lot. Is it okay for cats to eat vegemite?

My cats have always eaten vegemite..especially if they can steal the toast as well! Vegemite contains loads of salt so just make sure Barney has access to fresh water (sure he does anyway but he will be extra thirsty). Meowww hello Barney :) ( I'm still missing my Barney :( )

Our vet actually told us to put a little vegemite on our cats paws, for extra vitamins. So it must be a good thing!

They always have plenty of water so should be fine in that regard.
