I've been a bridesmaid three times.
First time was for a girl I went to school with. A very proper wedding, we got send to dancing lessons so all the bridal party could do the waltz properly.
Second time for my brother - I think I was the family component for that wedding.
Last time as for my sister - her wedding ending up being the wedding from hell. And yes, they did get a divorce in the end.
Do any of you ladies have good/bad stories about your bridesmaid experiences?

I was a bridesmaid for my sister, it was fun - and everything was fine, no issues, no bridezilla moments.

3 times here! For all my sisters, and guess what, unless me and Stu elope (which is a vast possibility!!) they will all be mine!
Had a ball at all of them...but then I just loved the idea that I was sitting at the "big kid's table" as I call it!!!

I've been a bridesmaid twice now for the same sister, and both marriages ended in divorce. I really didn't enjoy it that much, because my sister isn't the easiest person to get along with, and leading up to both weddings, she had a hugely over-inflated opinion of herself which got to be pretty unbearable in the end.
If she were to get married again and asked me, I think I would say no this time.

I have been a few one quite a few times. My parents are both remarried so obviously I was one in both of those. I was also a bridesmaid for my stepsisters wedding, and my brothers wedding. My brothers wedding was probably the best because it was the biggest, and all the dresses were amazing! That was the first time I'd had my makeup professionally done and was a lot of fun! Was too young to drink champagne at the time though!

I was a bridesmaid for my sister and I had the best time ever. It was a fantastic day.
Monty, like you I have never been a bridesmaid. Two Sisters, both married, both asked one another to be bridesmaids, but no, not me. ;(
(That's what you get when you are different I guess. ;) )

I've been a bridesmaid twice and will be one next January... I'm the bride to be at the moment :)
The first time was for my cousin and we wore these horrid bottle green dresses with lace gloves and baby's breathe in my hair. She wanted everyone to look the same so they curled my hair and swept it up to one side (yuk)...
The second time was for a close friend who I've known forever, she's one of my bridesmaids. I was living interstate so the whole experience was stress free and we had a great couple of days leading up to the wedding. She had a ball at her kitchen tea and hen's night too :)
The third time will be for a close friend who again I've known forever, she's my maid of honour. We'll be going dress hunting when I'm back in Oz (next week) and I think she's expecting me to be at her hen's night (but the travel might be a problem)... I would love to be there but we'll have to wait and see :)
From being the Bride to Be, all my girls have had to do is decide on the top style for the outfit and take their measurements... I've done everything else including organising most of my hen's night. Everyone's so busy and I have a bit of time on my hands so it's easier for me to do everything. I didn't expect a great deal from them except for looking gorgeous on the day :)

I have never been a bridesmaid before either, but maybe one day my brother and his girlfriend might get married and I might have a chance ;)
My hubby was best man for our friends wedding a couple of years ago and we had a great time writing out a speech together- we spent hours on it- and hubby delivered it so well it was hillarious, everyone was in stitches and people still comment that it was the best speech they had ever heard LMAO

I was a flowergirl once (many moons ago...) and a bridesmaid in 2002. It was a great day overall and the marriage is as strong as ever with two little munchkins. :)

I've been a bridesmaid once (about 13 years ago). My three sisters keep saying that they will be having the rest of of us as their bridesmaid's but by the time they get married, I'll need a walking frame to get me down the isle LMAO
I have been a bridesmaid twice for my parents and it was bad the second time i had to wear a baby blue poofy of boofyiest dresses i think has ever been invented the hoop was sooooooooooooo big we could not fit through the door it is funny now but at the time o soo bad, oh and the off the shoulder sleves were so boofy they actually came up to our ears ha ha ha. The good old early ninties outfits were great!! :faint:
