The salesmen and Gra have been watching him for the past 2 days, across the road from the car yard sitting on the porch of an empty house (has for lease sign up) so Gra went over this afternoon to take a look. The dog was extremly timid, Gra said it took him at least 15 mins before he's let Gra pat him. Gra went and bought him a pie poor thing was starving. Safest thing for him was to bring him home here. He happily sat up in the car with me, and he's fine on a lead. Sits and shakes hand. So someone has looked after him at some stage. He 's taken no notice of the burms (you should have seen 3 heads with saucer eyes pop up from the donut bed tho). He's met Harry and they are great mates already. I took him up to the vets but he's not microchipped and he has no collar. I've given the AWL his details, so I guess it's wait now and see.

If no one claims him, looks like Harry has a buddy. He needs to be desexed and his dew claws removed. I have no idea how old he is. How long would be a reasonable time to wait to see if someone claims him? 2 weeks?

I'm about to give him a flea bath - poor boy, he stinks.

Ohhh Pam what a very lucky dog to have found a home (even if temporarily) at your place! What an intelligent face he has. I'm glad that he and Harry are getting on well and that he isn't too perturbed by your burmese babies :)

Please keep us posted on Mr Pooch...what are you calling him?

Pam, I love Mr Pooch! He reminds me of a dog I had when I was younger, his name was "Patch" (Very original I know!!) and I loved him so much. ;(

So glad Gra found him, and took pity on him. I would say that he is now very much your dog Pam.

Oh, he's cute as a button! I kind of hope that if someone is missing him, they do find him again - but if not, he and Harry look thick as thieves already!

If he's not chipped, he'd be older than 5 because I *think* the microchipping law has been in place since 2000 (or is that just NSW?) Of course, he might just be a *free to good home*/BYB dog (grrr).

Anyway, it's so good of you guys to take him in.

(Love the mental image of the the three burms with big, big eyes! LOL)

Hi Girls,

This is were Gra used to sit LMAO

I looked through the paper's lost and found section, nothing there for him. I'll put a found notice in the paper, so at least the owners have been given every opportunity to find him.

We are wondering if he has arthritis, he sometimes limps, (other times seems to be perfectly fine) but he doesn't look that old? He definatley needs a proper vet check (I just popped in and got the girl at the desk to run the scanner over him). You can see that some of his teeth are broken :(

Too be honest, I hope no one claims him  and that these 2 weeks go by quickly, as we are fast falling in love with him. How can we stop getting attached to him? Oh dear, and we have named him, that's not good is it. We've decided to call him Potter :D

On Monday one of the tradesmen didn't latch the gate properly and the wind blew it wide open for Harry and Potter to escape :argh:

Gra had the day off and we'd gone shopping. It wasn't until we got home that we realised the dogs were gone. We'd been out for almost 3 hours, and the tradesman was no where to be seen either, so who knows how long the dogs had been gone.

We got in a car each driving around the suburb frantically looking for them. How would we ever get Potter back, we'd only had him 2 days! Harry was at least chipped, but visions of finding him hit by a car kept me blinking back tears.

And there they were. Harry & Potter! In the neighbouring estate, wagging their tails and ever so pleased to see me! Harry recognised the car and leap in barely giving me time to open the back door. Potter, amazingly followed.

Phewwwww. I am still amazed at them sticking together - and that I actually found them.

Now that Potter has settled in, it's as if the penny has dropped and he's suddenly realised those fluffy things are in fact Cats. He had the 3 Burms under the dinning room table last night, and he was circling the table, keeping up a steady pace, the Burm Choir in full volume. Even after I had taken the Burms upstairs, Potter paced around the house looking for them. So I am a little worried he just might chase them now or worse attack them. So, Potter is only allowed around the Burms when he can be fully watched just in case.

AWL have checked their books and no dog answering Potters description has been reported, poor boy, so seems he really was abandoned :(

Pam, That new dog of yours certainly knew whose house to pick didn't he. He looks right at home on the couch. Are those tradesmen still leaving the gate
open, you would think they would remember to shut it by now, wouldn't you? Potter probably thinks the cats are sheep and he is rounding them up!

Pam, you and Gra are fantastic people to give Potter a home. He is a very lucky dog. I think he has some German Shepherd in him - the shape of his head.

Thanks Rosanne, Potter has settled in so well, and I am amazed at how quickly he has put condition on, he's looking great!

Hmmm, Potter might not think he's found the best home come next Thrusday! *lowers voice to a whisper* He's getting the chop, and his double dew claws removed from his back legs.
