OK, a really deep and meaning question which I have been pondering for some time.
Why when you use your clothes dryer you get so much fluff in the lint thingy?

Because the air blows from the back and it sucks in the front. All the fluff is from your clothes :(

90% of the stuff in my lint catcher is cat hair

In case any one is interested..when i empty the lint filter on my dryer ( i use it very rarely) I throw the lint out into the garden...I have read that the birds love to use it to make their nests :):)

We don't have a dryer but I discovered not so long ago that our washing machine has a lint catcher (we've had the washing machine for over 6 years). I told my sister and she was shocked - she worries if she doesn't clean hers every wash and I hadn't cleaned mine in years. It was kind of gross though, slimy and chunky. Yuck.

You think that lint thingy is bad, you should see the rest of the machine. Or maybe it is just mine, and my obsession with fabric softener  All the around the outside of the bowl, and casing :eww:
I am always getting in trouble from FIL because I use to much, I just can't help it tho LOL

Leigh is right. Take out the agigator and check out all the gross gunk, worse if you are a softener user. I clean mine out about every three months to try and not let the build up get too much
Reminds me of a friend who blew up her dryer ..she had no idea you had to clean out the lint
Mine are full of cat and dog hair too. I have 2 dryers in my laundry lol
i had to buy a new gunk collector for the washing machine the old one was so gross :eww: my partner didnt know he had to clean it till i came alone it was real bad after cleaning it it still remain gunky :eww: :eww:
