Fires in our neighbourhood

For those of you who know Townsville we are commonly known as Brownsville because our lack of rainfall and heat. Like many places around the country we have had very little rain.

Yesterday we had a whole heap of small fires on mountains around our area. We were in no danger of the fire just copped a whole lot of ash.

Trev took this photo last night from the balcony of our bedroom. You can see the first lighting up the mountain. It looks quite close to houses but it isn't really.

WOW thats an amazing pic (only cos no-one was in danger)

I hope it has all settle down now and theres not too much ash fliming on cars etc and that the smoke didnt effect anyone.

Everyear I don't envy the RFB and the amount of work that has got to be done because backburning hasn't been done (haven't been able to with this weather) and the problem that people don't listen and throw those ciggies out the window. Its a horrid time for all involved.
