View Full Version : Menstrual Cups
Hi Girls,
I just came across this News (http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/medicalnews.php?newsid=27320)
so googled, as you do, Menstrual Cups (http://www.lunapads.com/products/divacup/) to see what they were.
Never heard of them, have you? Sounds messy to me.
ps: see, far more interesting then doing the housework chores I should be doing LOL

I've read about them (heard them mentioned on a different forum). It's just not my thing, sounds very fiddly and I'm sure you'd get used to it and get better at using it but I don't know if I'd have the patience to practice.
wow ive never heard of them looks interesting lol

I had heard of them before, but the name was enough to put me off finding out the workings of them :eww:

I have also heard about them from a different forum, from someone that was using it actually. It sounds a bit messy for my liking, I just don't think I could stomach doing it :eww:

I had never heard of these before and can't say I'd ever want to use them ( too gross for me :eww: ) However if you were going hiking for a few months in the middle of the bush it could certainly save on a bit of room in your pack LMAO

On a more serious note they could have come in handy during times of war when rations were scarce.
If there is a war and rations are scarce, I'll think of you Mel, and remember your advice ;) What every girl should pack in her survival kit LOL
Eeewwwww! I cannot imagine having to use something like that!!! NO Thanks!!
Interesting reading though Pam, I have never heard of them before.

I have some friends who sell them & use them & swear by them! They're not for me, though...

ewwww , haveread about these a while ago.. and i deffinately don't think i will be trying them ...
I also found in my travels on an American parenting site, a discussion about cloth menstrual pads. It seemed they are very popular choice by all the positive replies I read about them! I honestly thought cloth pads went out 50 years ago. Here's just one of many cloth brands they discussed here. (http://gladrags.com/category/Gladrags+Cotton+Menstrual+Pads.html?osCsid=2ecb659 219978cccb1bac18a022a2e9e) What do you think about using cloth pads? I don't think I've ever seen them here in Australia. They are definitely not for me. I prefer tampons anyway.

I think they are becoming very popular now, along with all the new cloth type fitted nappies. Think with people becoming more environmentally aware, we will see lots of things turn back time to what they used to be like.

Pam, there's a current thread about cloth pads on an Aust parenting site I look at - they are v popular here too, apparently. I don't think I'll ever use them (not a pad person myself) but someone also mentioned reusable sea-sponge tampons. I wouldn't use those either ... it would just feel weird.
