Today Gra and I sponsered a little 9 year old girl, Mary, from Ghana :)

We have been talking about and saying we'd love to do this for sometime, and today we finally made it happen.

I'm looking forward to recieving our pack which will have a picture folder with photo and details of Mary. I'll share the photo's with you all when I recieve them :)

That's fantastic to hear. Our family has sponsered a young girl through CCF (actually we have been through a few girls because they get to certain age and they no longer get the money). She writes us little letters every now and again which is really lovely.

I used to do the 40 hour famine but that's the only time I have every been directly involved with World Vision.

I have sponsored a community aid project thru Austcare for many years now. I chose this over sponsoring a child. I chose the community aid project, usually targeted at women who can learn a skill that will be of benefit them in the long run. Or a project that will benefit the community as a whole eg establish a clean water site.

That's fantastic :)

We have the former head of World Vision at my church! I also used to do the 40 hour famine.

We got a lovely photo of our sponsered child, Mary today :) Her birthday is the day after Gra's on the 10th of Feb. She is in grade 2 and she lists her favourite game as Ampe. I've googled and can't find out what kind of game that is. Does anyone know? I noticed quite a few children listed Ampe as a favourite game. Mary lives in Ghana if that helps.
