Going to the gym 5 nights a week, I need some ideas on things I could make in advance, or get pretty much ready during the day.

Anyone got a good recipe for shepherds pie? I made a packet mix one the other day, and while everyone else liked it, I can't say I was too keen.

My shepherds pie is really easy - I make pasta sauce, put mashed potato on top!

Pasta sauce is a great pre prepare meal :) Add some red kidney beans & chilli & you have chilli con carne.

I found alot of packet mixes to be nice that are easy to make before hand and just stick in the oven later!!
Try my chicken lasagne recipe i posted up a little while ago in the forum (not a packet mix but easy to make) My Yummy Lasagne!!! (http://www.allforwomen.com.au/forums/showthread.php?t=772)

Or even pasta bake or tuna bake which you get the sauce in the jars and just mix it thru and it can be left til you want to throw it in the oven!! I've got a pasta bake in the freezer...just the meat and the sauce mixed together and then when i need it i'll take it out the night before and put it in the fridge and then cook up some pasta and when we're ready to eat just throw it all in together in a dish and throw it in the oven!! You can use chicken or red meats or just pasta!! They're always yummy!!

I hope that helped you a bit :)

If you have enough space in your freezer you can make up a whole batch of dinners on a "free" day put them in contianers (enough to feed everyone for one night) then just take it out of freezer during the day to defrost.
some ideas could be : spag bol, casseroles, *beef strog, rissoles, meat loaf, *apricot chicken, crumbed meat or chicken (crumb when buy then freeze), also pasta freezes' ok.
ALL that have a * are good packet mixes.

thats about all i can think of right now.
(sorry just woke up)
