Slack-assed mother of the week. I finally got Hugo into bed and I hope sleeping - he has decided that as he can stand up in the cot now, he won't be having his morning sleep anymore, he'd rather stand there and talk to himself for an hour. So he's gone down for his afternoon nap, a bit early but we were both well and truly ready for it.

His nappy is on backwards because I don't have the energy to hold him down while I'm changing him so I had to slap it on as best I could as he crawled away from me as fast as he could.

Half of the buttons on his wondersuit aren't done up (again, couldn't get a hold of him long enough to do them up).

He has two wraps on, in desperate hope that he'd actually fall asleep before he managed to get out of both of them - because then he'd be standing up for the rest of this nap too.

His clothes are covered in breakfast and lunch (which was just a vegemite sandwich and vege sticks, because I'm too tired and slack to make him proper lunch today).

And I should be using this time to tidy up as it's all I can do to keep up with him while he's awake, let alone actually do anything around the house - but I'm so tired, I'm going to have some lunch and lie down.

I really hope this is a LONG nap.

Hugs.

I understand that feeling well. Zaccy's been running around in nappy & singlet all day - he won't stand still long enough to get him dressed!!

Hi Naomi,

I think you're doing the right thing. Try to rest while bub is resting.

How old is Hugo now ???

It's been a long time since mine were little - but you still remember all the FUN times like trying to get them to sleep, cleaning up after them (hey, I STILL do that), and answering OH's question - "Hi Honey, I'm home. What did you do today" ?? (same as I do EVERY day!!!!)

Take care, and enjoy your rest,

Louise

Hmmm, don't sound like a slack mum to me Sounds like the routine of a busy toddler mum. I can't even hack it with one sick cat so I applaud you for looking after Hugo so well.

congrats on surviving!! You made me laugh, coz this is EXACTLY what I do!! The only time that I get to actually sit down and do NOTHING is when the kids are in bed at night, but then again, I got housework to do at that time, too!!

Have a good nap!!

I can't imagine what is like to have a child but don't be too hard on yourself.

Yay! 2+ hour nap. We're off for a walk to get some fresh air and hopefully tire him out for bedtime tonight.
