This is amazing and I wouldn't cook corn any other way, there is no need to husk your corn at all, simply place your cob of corn in the microwave on high for 8 minutes, then remove and cut of both ends and shake and out will come a perfectly cooked silk free cob of corn. No hassle, no fuss! AMAZING!
Technically, a henge is actually an oval or circular earthwork, with a surrounding bank built up of the earth excavated from a ditch inside the bank. By this definition, Stonehenge is not truly a henge in any sense, as its ditch lies outside the bank. There have been many theories as to the intended purpose of Stonehenge and other standing stones. The most likely seems to be, at least in part, that of seasonal calendar, as the sun aligns with particular stones at the solstices. This...

Looking at the recipe in the challenge thread ( Vietnamese salad ) the recipe calls for fish sauce. Is there anything I could use instead as I don't like fishy things at all?
Having people over for dinner on Friday, it's not formal or anything like that, just family. I was thinking of doing herbed roast chicken and potatoes and then salads (instead of other cooked veges). There's a green salad I really want to try, it's mint, pea and spinach (a friend made it before Christmas and I really enjoyed it) - but would the taste be a bit weird with the chicken?
I have just peeled a cob of corn I bought at Woolies the other day I love fresh corn. Anyway its a bit pale in colour and its skinnier than the ones I have had before? Its not slimy or gross would you still eat it???
Since before the MOTH went into hospital, quite a while before actually, I would cook the evening meal and sometimes he eats it but most times he leaves the majority of it on his plate. TBH it gives me the shits. Tonight I cooked a pork chop, peas and corn and a potato, that was it, he ate the pork and the rest went in the bin. I asked why he didn't eat it and he said he's not hungry. I returned that I don't like throwing the food I've cooked in the bin. So girls, do I cook for him? Do I ask...
Did you do anything special for lunch this year? We had for breakfast Honey Glazed Ham which DH did himself, and eggs on toast. Then for lunch Two turkeys. DH makes the stuffing every year, plus the gravy.. I did all the vegs, and had a big selection.. Roast Potato, Sweet Potato, Pumpkin, Carrots, and Whole small Onions. Cabbage, Peas, Swede, Parsnip, Baby Squash,Broccoli, amd Cauliflower. I did end up with only a small amount left for bubble and squeak for breakfast yesterday. Dessert...
I don't own either of these appliances but I have to admit to being intensely curious. So far I haven't heard any bad issues with the thermochef and it's less than half the price of the thermomix.. I'm not sure I really understand the hype really... then again I love hands on cooking and doing things myself. Anyone an expert?
had to buy some jam earlier.... do you buy jam or conserve spread.....and why

Hi girls, Cornflakes or museli are ho hum. I'm just eating an omlette with fresh parsley, onions and crushed kipfler (spelling?) potatoes. I also love blueberry pancakes with ricotta and maple syrup. Just delish! Any other interesting ideas for breakfasts?
I do so little baking as I'm hopeless at it, but thought I would make some Xmas stars for the staff at work. Now I need to know is generic brand flour and butter as good as branded ones? And how long should I keep them before using?

Hey inventive women of AFW. I want to make one of these for my 'Dude of Honour'; but I don't know how to make the icing... I need to fly it up to QLD also - where it will go through the mail system (express of course). So it will need to be stable. Help please :D
