Cherie said on the weekend to go and see this movie I went with a GF and watched it last night. I loved it! I cant get the song out of my head " There is nothing I would rather be than to be an Aborigine":hehe: Ernie Dingo and Geoffrey Rush were brilliant and Magda always adds a bit of...

  4. Dramatic Romance and Romantic Comedy's

I would like to know if I'm alone in this. I have a beef with dramaticly romantic movies. These over-blown Hollywood piles of pish-posh seem to set an impossible ideal for what can be expected in reality. They seem to portray romance & love as something that's star spangled and miraculous - but...

  5. Beautiful Kate *SPOILER ALERT*

Has anyone else seen this movie? It's an Australian flick....thought it was incredibly disturbing. I'm sure it was meant to be because the overall tone of the movie was very sombre. Just wondering what others might have thought of it. :dk:

  6. Crazy Heart

Yet again another worthy performance by Jeff Bridges (nominated for an Oscar), now this won't be everyone's cup of tea, if you love Country and Western or a little bit of a romantic... I loved his character Bad Blake - he is a broken down, hard living country music singer, who has had way too...

  8. The Woodsman

After reading thread about Beautiful Kate it reminded of the 2004 Kevin Bacon film 'The Woodsman'. Has anyone seen it? It was very hard to watch and quite disturbing - I still can't watch Kevin Bacon and not feel creeped out by him.

  9. The Blind Side

Go see it - it is for everyone - has no swearing, has no sex, has no violence and it is just a really nice "feel good movie" and no it is not all about American football - though it does show how the skill is needed to play this game, Sandra Bullock gives a very canny performance as a Southern...

Ha anybody seen this movie - read the book and thoroughly enjoyed it, though somewhat scary stuff. Always hesitant to go and see the movie as it never seems to meet my expectations.

  12. Inglorious Bastards

Dh and I watched Inglorious Bastards - Its a Quentin Tarantino. Normally I don't like gory, full on movies and although I closed my eyes during a few bits, it was a great film!! It's pretty much about a group of American Soldiers who are out to destroy the Natzis! Highly recommend!

  14. Smile Precious - an amazing movie

Yep went to an advance screening of Precious last night and what can I say without giving the story away - it is harrowing, painful, heartbreaking explicit...but nothing you see is unbelievable, unless one wants to deny the hell that some women go through. This is an extraordinary film with a...

Last night I went to see the movie Avatar. It was a great movie, I really was transfixed. The special effects were so good. When I found out that was the movie I was going to see, I was a bit apprehensive, but it turned out just fine. So giving it an 8/10. :D

  22. It's Complicated.

I went to see this movie today. It was very good, very funny and what I call a real feel good movie. Am suggesting that all you movie goers do not miss this one. It is more appealling to the over 40's crowd I think. It stars Alec Baldwin, Meryl Streep, and Steve Martin. Go see it ...
